It does take skill to get proper value off of the result of both of those things. I have 2 keyboards hooked up because I need them both, I have a 60% and a full size but it makes my computer not recogznise my keyboards, mouse, mic and even my headset which is also USB. yeah a lot of folks will try to use the 12-14th gen i9s running windows 10, which doesnt have the scheduler built for p-cores / e-cores. windows 11 will handle this, and just run in compat mode if needed. his event viewer should tell him whats happening though

new intel CPUs have P(erformance) and E(fficiency) cores, E cores have lower power draw, clock speed, memory bandwidth and are meant for using a browser, or answering emails etc. But P and E cores weren't a thing when Win10 scheduler was created so it treats all cores as equal, and puts games on worse E cores.

im not sure i would quantify it in terms of FPS, because that is going to be roughly the same depending on the hardware. where you're going to see the major change is in system stability, opening and closing apps, running multiple apps, streaming, things like this. you will get a small uplift in frames just because the CPU will be running "cleaner" but not a lot

yes, running an out of date OS that MS started to use as a win11 test bed. you have a mostly broken OS, and need to start from scratch. also, MS is notorious for missing the finer details when it comes to drivers etc. when upgrading the OS. always best to start fresh if you can

that was a great way to do it in windows 10, but with 11 you're going to need to connect to the internet anyway to complete the fresh install, so 6 in one half a dozen the other. yes there is 1 way to get around this, but its absolutely not worth it since 23h2 just came out a couple months ago.

if you have never done a clean install of windows 11, just watch a youtube video. 5-10 mins and it will walk you through every single screen and what it means. when you select the drive you want to use as the OS drive, you have the option to format all of your other disks back to the stone age
