The new smoke simulation, alone, will require more resources than before. I hope they don't leave those people behind. For us, I'm sure it's not a big deal; however, you have to recognize the games popularity (and free price tag) in less developed nations as a primary reason it is at the top of the steam charts daily. There was a bit of a input lag feel like ziplines you press E and sometimes it just wouldnt connect or when you try to jump after you actually press space it would have half a second to actually react to the input

@austere crag the reason why you have an ssd sitting around as an external steam library is that it is stored more securely than on a computer, you can store more games with fast transfer (this means that you can save a couple of games that you don't play very often or you just have to play them when you have already finished playing another games( - how would you play eg dynglight 1 -> dl 2) from eSSD) + it's also useful for slow download speed and maybe you can backup your saved game progress (it is useful when pc crash or when you finish the game and decide to uninstall, you can save your game progress)

OK, this whole drive debate is starting to get really chaotic so i'll just put an end to it. If you're looking to buy a hard drive, whether it's portable or mounted into your PC, go with an SSD. It'll probably cost more (~50% more when comparing a SATA 4TB HDD to M.2 4TB SSD) but the performance gain and reduced noise are easily enough to justify spending more. But in a situation where you find a HDD that functions fine, there's absolutely no reason to throw it away since HDDs do not have a write limit as opposed to SSDs, so if a salvaged drive passes an R/W test with no errors, it's perfectly good and can be moved from PC to PC to PC without degrading over time.
