I would disagree about the luck comment, but to each their own.

I prefer ranked because casual games because I want to play with people of a similar skill level.
Absolute stomps in either direction aren't fun.

And, if I'm solo queuing, then I'm definitely more likely to find teammates who are trying to take it seriously. Solo in quick play seems pointless.

My argument is that, I don't see a way to make up for the support role as melee, you are missing out on big damage that either heavy or light could do and most of the ones I got to catch on ranked do stay with their team precisely for the support role they fill

like yeah jump pad and zip line are good movement but benefit ANYONE that finds it

appart from that drill flash could do something but at that point just bring demat and regular flash

and if you bring demat or turret you basically clear medium from a support role

if anything Dual blades do cause havoc but require some coordination for your team to make use of since those are harder to deal with than riot

but as an mgl on main neither have cause trouble and it is mostly light the problem on melee, even heavy with goo gun is more menacing than winch one

If you get teammates with a similar rank as you that doesn’t mean they are similarly skilled sadly(in my case that’s almost always the case). If it’s like that for you then that’s great for you.

Every 2nd game I also get ruby full stacks and I have 0 problems against them but the entire lobby treats them like gods, purely because they have a ruby badge and as a result they get to 4th party as they please because no one dares to fight them(my randoms included). This is my and the majority of the players‘ ranked experience and it’s just really demotivating to play after reaching diamond.

I only know they're ruby after looking up their Embark IDs. They usually control the lobby because they are more skilled than anyone at my current rank - but I will admit that it's still very fun to outplay them from time to time 🙂

I can’t tell you how many times we got knocked out because at the last cashout we had to fight the entire lobby who only attacked each other once we were wiped. It’s not fitting to be considered ranked.

The four team structure is what makes The Finals so unique for me.
Making choices based on what the other teams are doing is part of the strategy. Often starting two cashouts to ensure we won't be attacked by all 3 teams, or letting another team double jeopardy and tactically staying in second to punish the enemy waiting at a Cashout... I love those choices.

If they do move in the direction you proposed, then I'll probably just play casual Cashout - assuming the world tour event isn't awful, otherwise I'll play a different game.

It’s great that it makes it different from other ranked in games but there’s a reason why it isn’t like this in other games. Most of the times I stay in second place because at the first two cashouts people don’t come to us so we can’t really get extra cash from kills. Admittedly I probably contribute to this because I have 70k elims in a rank where the average is probably 30-40k but thanks to this I can’t get out of plat. Plus the 100 other factors you have no control over makes it more about luck than skill in my case but I’m glad at least you are having fun.

I think they just need to make a ranked head to head mode and also keep the existing one.
However, I'm also reluctant to have two ranked modes - especially after the previous experiment... 🙁

Then again, despite understanding where you're coming from, my play style is the complete opposite. I will regularly (and repeatedly) sacrifice my KDR just to secure a steal and move on to the next round 😂
My favourite was being revived with a defib and instantly going for a steal in the middle of a heated fight. Reckless, almost certain to die, and yet... successful 🙂
