That's a bit of a shallow way of thinking. There's plenty of ways to tinker with EVs. Bigger batteries bigger and better motors. But i do agree it's not as sophisticated as engines and a lot of the culture is centered around brakes and suspension. But evs can be tinkered with to deliver more power. Sometimes you'll see a lot of thick cables coming out of the chasing going to the wheel hub etc

Well here's the simple facts. Combustion engines have far more components you can tune and swap out vs an ev with some cables and software updates. As for your assertion that I've never driven in one, that's false. I've driven in my fair share of cars, that includes EV's. Be mindful of what you say before you speak. EV has very little support and most of the components you would upgrade, you can't because it's locked by the manufacturer

We’ve pretty much reached the limit of maximum fuel efficiency in most cars, especially SUVs and crossovers like think about it. Why do you think manufacturers keep making engines smaller and smaller while turbocharging the shit out of them? It’s what Europe has done for a while now but here it’s out of chasing better fuel economy and not for tax reasons like it is there. But yeah we haven’t really been able to get better than 30 mpg on crossovers and SUVs despite a lot of them now having turboed I4s or even a fucking 3 cylinder in the case of the Chevy trax lmao
