this is what you get when devs have their vision ruined by either the community, or whoever convinced them that the original game design / vision had too many flaws or imperfections, leading us to this point, game just feels bland compared to before. sure the destruction is nice, but it lost so much that made it special

at launch most weapons felt hard hitting (within the confinement of slow-ish TTK design), now everything that is automatic feels like pea shooters, while semi fire weapons are instakilling on sight
removing fun features like goo plane
melee went from fun + good, to not so fun + not good. nerfing melee so hard, and gaining 0 players from it, while most melee mains quit their class / the game.
slowly they've removed so much of the chaotic feel, and fun, to make it more balanced, but for me it just became bland.
The latest bow buff for example, to me, bow was a hard hitting weapon, that should reward you for being precise, and for some reason they totally missed the mark and almost made it an automatic fire weapon, who was asking for that ? lol
spawns got worse and worse, never fixed, then left in the dust
matchmaking is the worst i have ever seen in any game, by far
ranked system is a complete joke, 3 man squads in top 1000 farming silver solo players, nice ranked system

I do agree a lot of autos have lost their impact. I also do miss goo planes. The entire reason I’m active here is because of my hate for the melee nerfs. I do also agree with the whole shift from chaos to balance, and the spawns/matchmaking/ranked are all valid. Honestly, everything you say is right. Theres not much I can say against it. I think that even though I still have fun it’s reasonable to feel bored or burnt out with this game. We are in dire need for changes to address the fun of this game.

I kinda think if they balance it well it opens up a unique medium playstyle. I don't think it should ever be particularly great in duels but its ability to play area denial should be improved imo.
The way you wanna balance a weapon like this is to make its presence obnoxious until the user is dealt with. It kinda achieves this but it's not really any more obnoxious than any medium using any mid range weapon if they can aim.

Used to escape, used to transport your team distances, used to teleport vault, used to give you a quick way back to cashout in case the fight tugs you further away, and used within a fight to flank and split a team in the fight.

H+ Infuser is also a must have ontop of Gateway, so between those two I'd have those.
Then Glitch is just too strong to give up, so my loadout is Gateway, Glitch, H+, but that's a very meta build right now.
If I don't use Gateway, typically because another light is using it, im typically running either vanish bomb or gravity vortex.
