Heavies aren’t supposed to get one-shot by Lights because of class role balance. In The Finals, each class has a defined purpose in team composition:

Light: high mobility, burst, and flank potential. They rely on positioning and precision, not durability.

Heavy: low mobility, tank durability, and area control. They rely on crowd control and sustain, not precision or mobility.

If a Light could one-shot a Heavy as easily as another Light, it would break that balance loop — because then Lights would have both speed and lethality against all classes, removing any reason to pick Heavy.

The only reason Lights can one-shot other Lights is because they share the same fragility pool (150 HP). It’s a mirror interaction — a glass-cannon duel. That’s intentional: it rewards whoever hits first or flanks smarter.

Now, about the dagger:
The dagger technically can one-shot a Heavy through backstab crits, but it’s the only weapon in the game that relies on positional mechanics instead of raw damage. That means the devs designed it so the only way a Light can delete a Heavy instantly is by catching them completely unaware — from behind, with perfect timing.

Dagger is the only Light weapon that can one-shot a Heavy, but only if the Heavy lets it happen.

In game design logic, that’s how the “triangle” of balance holds up — mobility beats control, control beats durability, durability beats mobility.
But in practice, because of current tuning and animation flow, Heavies end up breaking that triangle by also having burst potential and tank stats, which is why it feels unfair.
