I mean, with as wonky as some of the stuff they've done has been, I wouldn't put it past them to deliver a major death to one of the "plot armour" characters, and the 6.1 - Pandemonium stuff they're teasing is some crazy hare-brained scheme bringing them back from some underworld. Stat squish is very common in MMOs especially long standing ones... it's mainly meant as a bandaid fix rather than an overhaul. By doing this they are buying themselves time to do something more significant in the future when it becomes an issue again (like 3+ expacs)
