Nope loot is random and you won't have to worry about others greeding/needing in the loot window if you solo

There is one reason to do it on a job its for and thats if you're farming leveling dungeons for glam

as you receive a piece of loot based on your current job at the end of the dungeon so it can help cut down on how much you will have to farm that dungeon for

@hallow jackal if you can wear an item as gear then you can wear it as glamour. Items state what jobs can equip, later on different sets are tied to specific job groups e.g. striking being samurai and monk. From the job quests you will unlock gear that is entirely locked to that job.

Glamour come from a lot of sources, some you will buy off marketboard or craft though there's a lot you have to get yourself in instances, there's also gear unlockable by different currencies such as tombstones or wolf marks from PvP.

This isn't all sources, just know there is a lot and A LOT aren't tradeable.
