we do orbs opposite, chains take both proteans and orbs take second tower
if it is on your left/right it gets tricky to move to opposite the orbs to start exactly like the first frame

it's really really good imo in terms of getting the mechanic done
the movement is tighter tho
but you lose a TON of uptime on melee without going really risky
like sometimes if you kite badly the orb ends up too close to the towers

I have kind of a stupid question : it's the first I'm actually playing a new patch at the start (I reach lvl80 3 months after everyone) and I have no idea how to gear 😦 I did Ruby normal and E5N with an ilvl465, and it was clear it was not good, but how am I suppose to up that ? eden normal seems to (slowly) provide some 480 gear, crafted is crazy expensive (25 million the piece on my server), how do most people gear ?
get 470 through phantasmagoria tomes and nier then just cap weekly stuff same as everyone
the gearing process basically "resets" with every even patch
everyone's gonna be getting the slow stuff, 450 tomes of allegory per week and eden normal drops
crafted isn't neccesary since you'll be replacing it with tome gear
the only "boost" you can get to surpass others is getting lucky with savage drops, but learning savage can take a while for casual players

470 should already be better, I'm fine with the slow stuff after that, I was just sure I was missing something between 460 and 480
what vis said (last eden/450 + phanty/460 should help get to a point where can more comfortably work on current stuff or farming copied factory for upgrade coins)

I dont mind going into like a two night a week team that wont see E8S for a few weeks but as long as we arent like stuck on E5/6 for several lockouts. Esp since all my friends say 5 and 6 are easy
I used to be on a 3 day a week 3 hours a night team in WoW and I got sick of it after like 4 months

3 hours a day 3 days a week is about pretty standard scheduling for a lot of statics. There are certainly groups that do less, but those groups tend to be more on the casual side nor just in terms of hours but skill level as well. You might find a holy grail group that has good players that just happen to not want to play that much, but that's increasingly unlikely now that the tier has already started.
Yeah feels like I'm getting a bit left behind because I wasnt prepared to raid week 1, especially since this is the first tier I've wanted to prog in. Kind of a shame
All my other friends are like "Yay we cleared E6S, not too bad, 7 prog time!" and I'm still like "heeey anyone need a dps for e5s?"
I found a static that rolls 2 nights 2 hrs a week, we meet Tues/wed. The players are solid enough that were making progress, so it's nice.

I'd do more than that, but I work full time and keep pretty busy so it's just not feasible
Another thing that sucks, I work flex on weekdays so I literally can never guarentee I can play on a weekday evening

early access to guides is listed as one of the benefits on the balance patron but a. it's early guides that most likely are very likely to chsnge and b. who knows how up to date the patreon benefits other than name color change are cause could be they're not publishing early guides at all, since they're subject to change most of the time and what's the point in publishing a guide if it's wrong

yeah mostly sometimes it takes a bit of extra time to do some testing and make appropriate updates to guides, especially in cases where jobs undergo a good bit of change. Also can be some cases where changes happen with new content, which can take up a good bit of extra time as well. But overall, we always want to make sure we're putting forth the best, most accurate information that we can, so occasionally there will be a slight delay, and usually end up being fairly prompt nonetheless with any updated information
you could also scour the questions/lounge area of the balance and read about people talking about the changes if anything assuming no guides

Thoughts on using physical ranged lb1 to hit comets + ruby weapon in phase 2 of ex?
Hmm, the math checks out. If I don't get marked for bradamante and hit all three targets, that would mean 1650 x 3 for 4950 potency.
Add that onto a potential lb2 from a melee during the soft enrage and the total becomes 10200 potency compared to the 9000 from melee lb3
If I get marked for bradamante and have to bait while the party kills a comet during the meantime, the total becomes 8550 so it might be better for the melee to use lb3 then
Granted, the downside is if the party mostly wipes during the soft enrage if no one mitigates, there isn't a lb3 to pick everyone up at that last second

arena width is as big as titan but titan is square and ruby is circle
and if you are standing about 60% further from titan you wont hit all 3 gaols by LB2
meanwhile the comets are like 75% apart

Ah, from my experience, ranged lb won't fire if the target you're targeting is out of range. So since I would target the furthest comet, if ranged lb could still fire and I assume that I hit all three.
so 50% you wont be targetted by it

to not target furthest thing to lb
and just aim it better
Aiming at furthest thing helps adjust the depth as it won't fire at the what you're targeting if the target is out of range
For additional reference, tanks can also gap close to put the meteors on the boss' hitbox. And there's no danger with the red markers since those are baited by proximity to the center of the hitbox so just have caster/healer chill right under and take them @mint falcon @foggy latch

For putting the meteors closer for sake of the LB. To bait the red markers so you don't have that risk during that phase that you mentioned
The "bradamante" or whatever is just 100% baited so there's no risk in doing that LB, you won't get it ever
Since you mentioned it's healer/dps but that's not correct
(can even go on tanks if everyone else is further away from the center of the hitbox than a tank)

You use a gap closer immediately once it snapshots to you

Does anyone know how PF tanks handle the Ifrit+Garuda phase in E6S? From what I saw in my training party, the weird tank buster makes things very messy :/
there are macros but a lot still fail horribly at ravensflight and helioclaw
Seems that Ifrit tank breaking their tether is the safest way to go. Then, they can take the TB in the face without worry and it doesn't require synchronization with an unknown cotank
Hello, can someone advise on E5S? We're doing triangle for CL but for some reason healer keeps dying to it. They stay in place while 2 and 3 move to swap the lightnings around
Maybe people get too close to each other while passing the lightning? It does a small AoE around one of the players when it happens
It's usually what kills people when passing lightning

@dull radish That’s interesting to know. Granted even pulling that off is tricky for the tank from my experience of trying to snapshot repelling shot to avoid knockbacks last expansion. Maybe if it was a PLD, then the risk of baiting the first bradmante disappears since you can invuln the hit and the vuln. Hmm, that might be something interesting to try out.
