not really, people don't really make video job guides, maybe some content guides here and there from mizzteq or mrhappy but generally when it comes to jobs and if videos are needed they're basically just uploaded as raw "5 minute dummy rotation" or "smn early bahamut opener" or whatever with usually no narration because they're just placed in extensive text guides
and personally i'd avoid desperius and work to game

when we were starting prog on p3 of alex we were getting to wormhole with like 48% but then everyone got comfier with the phase and we started potting and by the end of prog it was 36-38%
but like, not like people were shitting their pants and unable to dps so pretty sure it's mostly well synced raid buffs and pots that are responsible for the increase

I've been looking at povs and strats and I am summarizing the encounter as final word/optical sight stuff > fate calibration > tank auto stuff > fate calibration > aoe dodging.
I'm writing macros that time the mechanics and randomly assign debuffs to players so that we can practice the motions in less stressful environments (and back to back instead of wiping and fighting before trying again) so I am hoping that can expedite progress

So here's a good question: The static I'm trying for again is kinda swapping classes so I wanted to go PLD just to see if I'd like it. So I tried the opener, and melded for the Omnitank (2.4s GCD) and the DoT always falls off. I'm pressing the buttons long before the queue takes over, and I'm not clipping at all (I'm even following the rotation as found on the balance) but the DoT always falls off before reapplying. If you cut if off at the first jail falling its about 97k active rdps

so they do it for leveling, even if they didn't queue specifically for old content
they queue for "any 24man raid roulette" for exp, then just do it no matter if it's lvl 50 or 80
some people do it on blu mage too for the challenge and to complete their blue mage log, cause it's a special side content job
and some just farm it for glam yeah
or for wondrous tails, for other peoples' first timer bonus etc

What else should I know? It's my understanding that I can just boost, finish shadowbringers, buy or obtain ilvl450 or higher gear and start raiding rite?

Plently of video guide on youtube. Balance would be a good source for theorycrafting new raids. You can buy 450 gear upgradable to 460. New raids/content coming out in patch 5.2 (18th Feb) which should have better gear for new raid tier so crafted may be a waste of gil.

Not really. Maybe for ultimate but its highly dependant on the team on how they want to resolve mechanics.
The only caveat is no repeats since that dampens the limit break gain as well as bonus stats from being in a party.
Most parties also like 2 melee and 2 ranged/casters so they are less chances of people standing on top of each other.

It depends on how comfortable you feel with the fight. If you've cleared it once but you feel you can consistently perform in the fight then you can jump straight into farm parties. If not you can join clear parties to get some more practice.

The best thing to do is make a timeline and calculate HP over it. That way you can say “ok I need this heal and then we’re past the threshold for the next AOE”
