Mmm by miscast I assume you mean starting a cast you don't want to finish, and instead want to cancel it? Usually I'll wiggle a bit, you can also just hit escape as well. But most ideally you just do what you can to not be in that situation in the first place, it should be a very, very infrequent thing (unless you were going to have to move anyways and the cast will naturally cancel from that movement)

Mmhmm~ usually what you should aim to do in that situation, if your target might die before you finish your cast, start it on a healthier target instead if possible, otherwise try to use a shorter cast/instant, otherwise just cast anyways and maybe it'll go off in time
Often can happen for like AoE for BLM, you wanna target the one with the most HP left and switch if that changes haha

I cleared Seiryu while it is fresh (quite proud of myself), and I got the wolf at around 60+ tries, i ended up farming seiryu up to 90-110 times because i want the weapons and I want to save up some totems for Gunbreaker/Dancer
the rest of the wolves I got in this order
- Byakko 29 runs
- Tsukuyomi 60+
- Suzaku: 40+
- Shinryu: like 5/6 runs
- Lakshmi: 13
i didn't even plan for Shinryu / Lakshmi, i only want to do Shinryu for its scale and weapon for glams
