If you can carry a similar level of dps in the instance itself while dealing with mechanics, without making other folks have to cater to you or generally lose dps/fail mechanics because of you, you're fine

Fights are generally much more mechanics-driven than having a strict dps check

With grit being a gcd I find it kinda clunky switching between 'dps' and 'tank' stance

How do you efficiently jump between the two if at all

after you press grit to turn it off just mash the shit out of hard slash

ideally you never need to enter grit again

Since I can only speak about the fight I'M working on, I really, really like O9S. Mechanically, it's a great fight. Some small forced downtime so it's not a full dummy, a nice amount of personal responsibility with the Head/Tailwinds or Primordial Crust/Accretion. My only problem with it is the fuckin donuts. They're not actually the size they appear. Or latency is the real mechanic.
