Hello, hello! I've got a question for any number-crunchers, and this is in regards to my sprout bootcamp team
I'm currently in the middle of crafting gear for my sprout team, and I had originally crafted them entire sets of Courtly Lover's. We're challenging M1S to M4S because they're new to raid and I thought this raid tier would be pretty great for an introduction to savage.
However, I have ran into an issue-- I didn't realize it until now, but I saw that gear doesn't sync down (unless it's a previous expansion) so we're running with HQ 770 ilvl gear on a avg ilvl 700 fight.
- || We were at Mouser 2 with 14% health left on the boss. || I'd like them to experience the fight in it's entirety, maybe at least the last mechanic before enrage hits, so I can gauge their improvement as players w/ their rotation and mechanic resolution.
- I tried to go MINE, but it made it very difficult. Missed mitigation leads to very stressful recovery and a caster death, the simplest mistakes lead to brutal wipes due to body checks (as it should've been, on release! but i don't think my team needs this kind of testing, we're not aiming for anything higher than savage)
I'm currently crafting them Archeo-Kingdom, and my question is... should I be crafting the whole gearset, or is just the weapon enough to drastically reduce the speed at which we are clearing a fight?
tl;dr the italics, whole gear or only weapon to handicap my team
Running full 710 is going to put you in a pretty similar position to running MINE, especially on the later fights. 710 is the gear that was available and used for w1 prog of that tier.
Past that /shrug there are probably people more qualified than me to comment.
I had an extra moment, so just looking at raw damage:
(Black Mage because it was at the top of the list, all unmelded and no food)
710: 6851.14 damage / 100p, 2.46 GCD
770: 9954.42 damage / 100p, 2.40 GCD.
So VERY ROUGHLY 710 seems to be around 65-70% of the damage of 770. GCD speeds do not match and I didn't check an xivgear sim so this is ballpark numbers.
And that's also not considering the health /defensive difference.
Ah, that's a good point! I should check XIVGear. I have the gearset crafted for myself already, and I can probably test trying out a difference in numbers when combining Archeo Kingdom and Courtly Lover.
I do wanna put them in a similar scenario where like, finishing the fight grants them the gear to tackle on the next fights (but not having to worry about reclears for ilvl730)
Might be better off making a mix of Ceremonial w/ the Archeo-Kingdom to get like... close to 720 - 730

It does, but aforementioned, more difficult than I had intended for my team.

then yeah a little more ilvl could help, tho there is the augmented crafted gear that you can get
MINE M1S is also lower stats than people ever actually did it on (available gear was 710, sync is 700 per the wiki) which doesn't really mean anything but is really funny.

Unless you're the kind of person that actively seeks out community (and the game is more than happy to keep you insulated with trusts), it's completely possible to wander into ex or savage and be unprepared
that too. GCD uptime isn't even a concept even for some people who have cleared savage fights

i mean some people just don't like to look up guides for games in general, which is understandable. so then when you're playing FF you have to have a friend or someone else nudge you to do that
the one thing you'll learn the more you PF is that some folks just do not have the same level of self awareness as you do

just about every dungeon boss and even raid bosses have this same pattern, -> start with AoE to tell you what the raid wide's name is going to be moving forward -> do some attack lets say cleave right -> do some attack that is the opposite -> use them together -> use them back to back -> keep adding mechanics in combo until fight is done or repeat
Metem should be a scion so that he can commentate every dungeon from 8.0 onward
the 2nd boss of meso terminal has the dps target an add for 3 gcds
i remember seeing a screenshot of the healer boss still at full hp because the healer refused to dps

I think if you have a good duo that's the best way to farm advanced but you both have to do a lot of dps.
