Glamour Dresser FAQ

"What is the Glamour Dresser?"

The Glamour Dresser allows you to glamour an entire set of equipment at once when in a city or town. You can find the dresser in your inn room at any of the Adventurer's guilds.

"How do I use it?"

In order to use the Glamour Dresser you need to first put the items you want to use for glamour inside of it. This requires a one-time cost of one Glamour Prism per item. You're able to safely take out the items, but you'll need to pay another Glamour Prism to put it back into the Dresser. After you have put in the glamour items you want to use for your set you'll want to click on "Edit Glamour Plates".

When the plate window opens up you can select the stored glamours you have onto the slots of the plate to create the set you desire. Once you're satisfied with your glamour click on "Save". You can now apply your Glamour Plate by accessing the Character menu, clicking the Glamour Plate button, and choosing the Plate that you have made.

To be able to pick up other classes, you just need to complete the level 10 class quest for your starting class. Doing so will unlock gearset (gear load out, basically), which subsequently allows you to pick up new classes.

progression do have some effect on what additional classes or jobs you can get, because you need to progress the story to visit new cities.

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. Can someone help me understand Crystal Conflict? I have played a couple of casual matches, and it feels horrid. Whatever team has the most tanks or healers always wins. The slow tick-rate feels horrid in PvP because the timing on everything feels off. It feels like abilities do nothing and it usually just comes down to someone magically 1shotting all 5 of my team members.

I feel like I am going insane with everyone saying it's fantastic. I must be doing something incredibly wrong, because it feels like dragging my feet through broken glass whenever i'm in there.

Tickrate is a very misunderstood concept in FFXIV

FFXIV client communicates with the server once every 40 ms

For a tickrate of 25 times a second

There is inherent delay designed into stuff like damage display but in general it’s not something I’ve found to be problematic in crystal conflict.

The PvP kits are designed with less delay it seems

'Which world should I pick?'

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

To add on to Vinyl, the inaccurate way way is to look at what worlds are locked, open, and preferred and then when those changed. Preferred worlds have very low consistent activity and locked are over filled or near capacity.

You can prod the system few ways. The lodestone provides moment by moment red/green for new character creation, as if activity is above a certain threshold than new characters can't join. The other side, if your server has a waiting list, then that means there's so many paying people online that you need to wait. I think with the new system you can assume this if you have more than like 30-50 people in que.
