Afaik since both tank stance and shirk is ogcd it can cause you to clip next gcd due to macro delay or you overwrite it with your GCD input causing the latter macroed skill not executed

another tip you might be interested in, when you're not using them to grab mats, send them out on quick ventures. They can bring back gear or venture boxes, and if RNG is on your side you can get things like pure white dye out of the venture box
