There's a total limit on time to roll.

If you can't roll need on something, it's probably gear you don't currently have the requirement for, such as for a different job.

After which point anyone who hasn't selected need/greed/pass will automatically be treated as though they rolled greed.
But you can roll need on any pieces that you're eligible for.
The only exception is in Pandaemonium (currently) where you can only win once piece per fight per week right now.
So if you go in to the same fight again, you won't be able to roll at all once you've won a gear token.

Dump it all in healing.
Chocotank is kinda meh compared to the other two options.
Healing can seriously up your survivability, especially when playing a DPS.
Where as DPS can make fights a lot faster if you have no problems surviving.

There's no real point to using materia at all until you get to max level tbh.
You replace gear too quickly for it to matter, and the payoff is relatively miniscule.

It's showing up in mog station now but when i go to transfer it won't show up. i have one character on Balmung and that shows up but when i go to select home world Malboro doesn't even show up (which is where my alt is). any ideas?

You can see this happening when you weave a damage skill immediately after a GCD damage skill with a long animation; the damage from the GCD skill will pop up in a rushed fashion and the animation for the previous skill is sometimes truncated as the new one starts playing.
