I dunno about other people but I only refresh Aspected Benefic when it runs out during Neutral Sect. I'd rather use ED or even Benefic 2 if it comes to it, those do more than the immediate heal+shield potency anyways. It's better to use that GCD for a Gravity or Malefic

There are no other options.
Because Duty Finder is active matchmaking - you join the queue and it starts looking until it finds a group for that content. You can't hang your place in the queue and jump back in after you're done with the cutscenes. That wouldn't be fair to everyone else.

When melding spell speed, looking at akhmorning's chart am I just ensuring I can reach the next row, or are only certain rows on the chart worthwhile? (every 3 or 5 or something?)

That's where I was was directed to use the akhmorning page from.
Be very careful about blindly melding Spell Speed. Unfortunately, this is one of the most dangerous stats to have prioritized, as it has the largest tiers. You can easily go upwards of 50+ almost entirely wasted stats (Almost two whole X materia!) that do quite literally, basically nothing. I would always reference either Akhmorning's Spell Speed stat tiers or etro.gg's built-in tier identification when melding.

AST. My sps was sitting at 778, I can reach the 824 row on the table if I pentameld a piece or two. Reaching 883 should be possible but only if I sac my crit materias for it so I wasn't planning to do that
