To be fair, AST has the card system, which might be distracting you. Prioritize pressing your DPS spell over cards. It's better to leave it on CD for a bit than it is to lose 2-3 casts.

If you're leaving massive gaps in your GCD uptime like the one shown, the best thing you can do is take yourself to a target dummy and, for DPS/tank classes, do Absolutely Nothing Except Your Rotation, until it becomes muscle memory and you no longer have to think about it.

Why Stone, Sky, Sea is a bad metric to measure DPS

1. SSS does not account for a job’s RDPS contribution via skills like Battle Voice
2. SSS is a 3 minute burst window where you adjust your rotation to fit in that period and does not reflect a realistic raid scenario
3. Different jobs will be in peaks and troughs of their burst windows
4. Different jobs have different SSS dps requirements
5. SSS is not accurately tuned for the jobs they are supposed to represent in most cases
6. 3 minutes is short enough to be able to be affected by lucky DH Crit bursts
7. Certain jobs gain dps by having additional party members like Dancer/Monk

When you have a purpose to your practice, you can disregard how boring it is.

What trees do spec into for my chocobo?
The typically recommended chocobo skill point allocation is to get 4 ranks into the healing tree for choco cure, followed by maxing out the DPS tree. You can eventually max out every tree, though to level your chocobo past rank 10 you will need Thavnairian Onions

Both. Each skill used shows up on the timeline with a light blue portion following it, to show the skill's cooldown time. At a normal zoom level, these gaps can be hard to spot, like so:

Ideally, you want each GCD ability to be starting the moment the cooldown for the previous one finishes (like the first three skills there).

To accomplish this more consistently, you can press your next skill just slightly before the GCD timer finishes. Your game client will read this as a valid input—it's called skill queuing—and will execute the skill as soon as the timer starts.

If you press the skill too quickly, it won't queue, so the trick is to get the feel for when that difference is.

frame rate settings in FF14 are garbage and can be buggy
ive seen them just flat out not work, or cause FPs to be incorrectly limited to 20, and other issues
better off setting the game to unlimited, and using Nvidia control panel, or another external tool, like Riva, to set those settings instead

especially they are buggy if you are running in windowed mode or using multiple monitors

great it worked for you, i also tried to use it with a new gsync monitor, it flat out refused to work
despite having fully updated drivers, and gsync working perfectly for every other game, (Except PSO2 NGS for some reason)

had to disable gsync for both games

gsync on would cause the refresh rate to constantly go up and down every couple seconds

on the monitor, in game was stable

this is why you want a gsync monitor which shows the refresh rate on screen, not a good idea to just assume its working, it could be worse than just running it as unlimited

Complete that step, then start the whole chain over as Paladin. When you want to pick Bard back up again, you'll still be at that point with that class.

You can have multiple relic quest steps active on different classes at the same time, but you can't have the same quest step active on different classes, so if you want to do the Paladin fully first, you'll have to finish that step for Bard before you can pick it up on Paladin.
