Glamour FAQ

'What is Glamour and how do I unlock it?'

Glamour is the process of changing an equipment's look into a different item with the use of Glamour Prisms. You can unlock the ability to glamour by doing the level 15 quests 'If I Had a Glamour' in Vesper Bay, West Thanalan. Although not required, you can unlock the ability to dye gear with the nearby quest 'Color Your World'. You can get the Orange Juice needed by talking to the nearby Merchant & Mender. Items used for glamouring are not lost upon use.

'How do I glamour? Where do I get more Prisms?'

Glamouring is done by right-clicking (Square or X on controllers) on the equipment you want to glamour and choosing the option 'Cast Glamour'. After clicking this you choose the item you want the appearance on the right half of the menu that opened up. You can get more Glamour Prisms by either crafting them after completing the quest 'Absolutely Glamourous', buying them from your Grand Company Quartermaster, or buying them from the marketboard.

using the expert roulette to run dungeons, after the daily bonus is used up, doesn't change what the dungeon itself gives

whatever is listed on the duty page for that dungeon is what you will get total, once you've finish the dungeon in its entirety

keep in mind however, the expert daily bonus tomes are only given once a day

DNC has less micromanagement than Bard does though, dancer only has to worry about standard step mainly because all your other skills rotate around it.

Bard has to worry about song timers, dot timers, procs, gauge...

With dancer most of your skills flow together as in they're usually activated by other skills, it gives dancer a very sequential rotation that makes it easy to understand.

Bard on the other hand is like.... three buttons but suddenly 10 if any of them are glowing or off cooldown

Hello new player here, is there a guide on how the glamour system works? I am to dumb to understand it lol. Coming from Gw2 where the wardrobe system is kinda easier to apply

Simplest way I can explain the glamour system:

The glamour dresser is where you put items you want to "glamour" on top of your current gear. Then from the glamour dresser, you can go to "Glamour Plates" to create Glamour sets using gear you put in the glamour dresser.

the most basic use though is using a glamour prism (consumable item) to apply one item's appearance to another, you do that by right clicking the item and choosing Cast Glamour after you've unlocked the ability to do so
