Anyway, there's also a delay going from a hotbar to another hotbar on the top of the opposite side.

You can mess it up because double tapping just won't swap to opposite side upper if you do it too fast.

It will just keep you on lower hotbar.

So I make sure my abilities don't go from one side to the top of the other side in a rotation.

When can I get my first mount?
The quest that allows you to use mounts, ''My Little Chocobo'', is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest ''The Company You Keep''. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose, and you'll need to buy a Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 required Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes immediately after ''The Company You Keep''.

Are there any differences between mounts?
Some mounts allow multiple people (2/4/8) to ride at once, with all mounts having the same movement speed. A partial exception to this rule is the SDS Fenrir, a mount from the Mog Station. The SDS Fenrir acts as if you have the first mount speed boost obtained from completing specific quests in the story, making it a bit faster than other mounts, but only until completing the relevant story quests for that zone.

Can I make my mount faster?
Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Job-specific quests were phased out in Shadowbringers, to be replaced by role quests, which group classes of like kind together and can be completed by any class in its category. The only reason Reaper and Sage still have them is because they are brand new and weren't around for the 70-80 role quests for ShB.

Reaper's EW role quests will be the Melee DPS quest line, to which you will be blatantly directed (along with the four other role quests) during the course of the MSQ.

Play a class which uses a pet as part of its skill set. You should have a Pet Actions bar that pops up on its own when you switch to the class; if not, you can find all the pet skills in the Pet Actions submenu in the Actions & Traits menu.
