You can't do the BLU boost if you're in a party. You have to be independent.

Note that you are not capped on the amount of drops you can collect for each step. a good solo leveling strategy for BLU is to find a spot with mobs slightly above your level that has a lot of them in close proximity, pull like at least 5 of them, crowd control them with something like ram's voice and mind blast when they're immune to freeze

i also used sticky tongue to grab them from around the camps without the other ones leashing back to their spawn point
