'Which world should I pick?'

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

Hello! Quick question because im lost. I just disabled fullscreen optimisation for ffxiv - in the official forums this is advised incase you have stutters here and there.
Yet, after doing this, my game in fullscreen now is set to 144hz while i set my monitor itself to 120hz. To top it off, ingame I set the fullscreen res to 1440p 85FPS to lower the gpu usage. Any idea why my FPS limiter wont work?

I think main issue for me is that I've always been really bad at key pressing. I'm always looking at my keyboard. Dragoons combo was easy. Samurai are all over the place and it's so hard pressing things quickly without thinking 😂

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

How do I unlock melding?

Complete Forging the Spirit (materia extract/npc melding) and Waking the Spirit (player melding) in Central Thanalan.

How can I get my gear melded?

To meld visible Materia slots a NPC melder in any major city will do (marked with a Blue Materia icon on the map). To overmeld gear you'll need to request another player to meld your gear or to do it yourself.

Why can't I meld this Materia to my stuff?

Every Tier of Materia has a minimum item level requirement that gear must meet to allow melding of that Tier. Tier 6 Materia requires an item level of 290 while Tiers 7 and 8 require an item level of 420.

Why is my meld giving +0 stats?

Every item has a maximum amount of stats that can be given through melding and the natural stats found on the gear. This can be seen at the bottom of the Materia Melding menu, as seen in the picture below.

The secondary stat with a higher number is already at the cap and cannot be further melded.

When the game disallows certain keys for modifiers, you can still get it to work if you use an app, sometimes the app that accompanies your keyboard/mouse, to alter what that key represents. So since you want to use a mouse keybind as a modifier, if you have such an app, you can change the mouse click to actually register as Shift. Then FFXIV will accept it.

Ninja is actually one of the easiest classes in the game, imo, because once you get the burst phase down (which will mostly come from muscle memory) you spend the remaining 3/4s of your time literally just going 123123123 over and over again

the burst phase is high APM but the more you practice it the easier it will get
