'How can I unlock Flying?'

Flying is unlocked through the collecting of a zone's Aether Currents, with every zone having ten 'green' Aether Currents found in the overworld and five 'yellow' Aether Currents obtained through the MSQ and side quests marked with a plus sign. Azys Lla is the only zone to not have any green Aether Currents. You must collect all Aether Currents in a zone to be able to fly.

Flying is unlocked in A Realm Reborn zones simply by completing the level 50 story quest 'The Ultimate Weapon'.

'Where can I find the green Aether Currents?'

Upon obtaining the Story Quest 'Divine Intervention' you get the Aether Compass, which is a key item you can use to locate the nearest non-quest Aether Current. Essentially, a bar fills up and anyone in the party can trigger it and the ability will be based off of the player that used it.
What are the rules/guidelines for it?
Is it left usually to supports to heals? For damage to burst the boss when he is low?

And usually I'd much prefer a caster/ranged dps cast it on a big pull than save it for boss
