Should you meld Direct Hit or Determination as a healer?

Short version? Pick which helps you sleep at night.

Determination affects healing and damage output.
Direct Hit only affects damage output.

Both stats have relatively TINY effects to your output to begin with. We're talking single digit % difference. Of that, on an even tinier scale, DH does beat out det in terms of damage. That said, det's damage bump is pretty close to DH's, and it provides that tiny boost to heals that DH doesn't.

When it comes to that det healing boost, the increase from det is not likely to ever actually cut out a GCD heal for you. The impact is just that small. It can help during prog with lucky heal rolls when things go wrong, stacking the odds in your favor to keep people alive by the skin of their teeth. BUT it's also possible to be at a 0.1% enrage pull where the little extra oomph from stacking DH could've made the clear.

There isn't a "right" answer, so go with your gut. Don't be afraid to swap melds, especially as your progression needs change!

Role Quests FAQ

What are Role Quests?

Role Quests serve as a replacement for Job-specific quests for Shadowbringers and are split into four categories (Tank, Healer, Physical DPS, and Magical DPS). These are unlocked with the quest 'Warrior of Darkness' at 71 and all start in the Crystarium around x10-11, y15-16.

At least one of these Role Quest series must be entirely completed in order to complete the Shadowbringers story. Completion of these quests, along with having the appropriate Job at 80, is also required to claim job-specific level 80 i430 gear from Grenoldt in The Tempest.

Mounts FAQ

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Currently playing Monke lvl 64(Got DRG and NIN to 60) and am wondering how hard is it gonna be to keep up/ out perform other DPS classes. I have a DPS tracker and using Extreme ARR trials as a benchmark for my DPS. As of now I'm doing a decent job but I can't help but feel like trying to keep up is gonna end up being an uphill battle.

My issue is as follows.

1: I want to level crafters.
2: In order to level crafters, I need gear.
3: To get gear, I need either scrips or a sload of gil.
4: To get either scrips or a sload of gil, I need to craft and turn things in.
5: To craft and turn things in, I need gear.
6: Repeat steps 3 - 5 for the rest of time.

Can someone please give some advice on how to get out of this f***ing hole? This whole crafting thing is probably my least favorite part of the game just because of how insurmountable it feels to actually gear up even at lower levels.
