That's your job gauge. The crystals are how many stacks of your stance yoy have. Fire increases fire damage by 40/60/80% and doubles fire mana cost, ice drastically increases Mp regen....the timer if how long left on your stance

At 3 stacks the opposite element spell gets its cast time halved (only important for fire/blizzard 3)

Which world should I pick?

I played alot of game but think FF14 is on the most expansive side. Atleast it's free, but if you played enough then you might want to keep playing, but after you pay for sub for more content you now have no choice but to keep paying, and only way to play the expansion is with a sub too.

That being the only way to play the expansion was hard enough, but to think I'm forced to keep paying after I do pay cause I cannot go back is too much...

How do I unlock my job?

To unlock your class' job you need to be level 30, complete all of your class quests and the main scenario quest 'Sylph Management' (lvl 20 quest) to be able to pick up your job unlock quest. The rewards for these are seals, which you can trade for many rewards, one of these are aetheryte tickets that make teleporting around free

In 1.0 main character got teleported 5 years into the future which is 2.0, right? But happened to all the characters the main met in 1.0? He met the old man who died in the cinematic so I think main journey in 1.0 is canon? But the characters I met in 2.0 didn't knew who I was, which makes sense why developer did it. Would be pretty hard to make you forget if everyone else remembers, but lore wise it doesn't make sense to me.

Are their any explanation as to why some of those important characters don't remember the main character? Did they lost their memory too, or what? Hopefully that made sense

i’m thinking of starting to play ff14, as some of my friends have been getting into it. Coming from wow, i’ve always loved classes that scale particularly well with gear. For example, classes that do something when they crit. My favorite class for example generates extra resource when their damage over time effects crit, and dot effects scale with haste, another stat that affects how quickly you can cast thjngs. So as the expansion continues and you get more gear, you crit more often snd get more chances at critting, making them scale super well and feel increasingly more powerful. vs other specs which also get stronger with gear but ultimately they don’t really generate more resource or anything, it’s just better gear naturally equals better damage.

If there’s a class like that in ff14, please let me know!

if we're talking strictly about something a mechanic or system scaling with a stat type, the only thing that comes to mind is Monk as it has a trait where landing crits gives it 1 unit of its resource and once you have enough of those you can use a specific skill

but that's the only job that really works like that + it has a skill thats a guaranteed crit if executed properly

I have to tell you that classes in XIV are very very well balanced, and while they all have different rotations they all scale very close to each other and they scale roughly the same with gear. Crit specifically is prioritized on almost every class right now due to the way stats are weighed
Seems like the resource generation mentioned is something to think about (I'd have to agree with Samurai, or Black Mage / Red Mage?)

Crafting can be done anytime, you can either go along with MSQ or you can wait until your first 80.
Unofortunately its too hard to pick one crafter without picking them all at once (They all rely on each other AND gatherers for materials, really cross-pollinated)

How do I get Grand Company Seals?

Once you are Sergeant 2nd Class you can turn in Pink/Green/Blue-rarity gear in exchange for more seals.
