Hunt mobs are always at level cap for their area. They're meant to be dealt with in groups. The good news is despite their level, they have a relatively low detection radius making them easy to avoid.

It's not a bad idea to get shadowbringers now before Endwalker if you really wanna get into it, can get all the Lore/Story, learn all the systems, try out classes etc.

You can, but it's more advisable to go at your own pace. The Story is 14's biggest draw and rushing through it will just leave you confused. You'll get to end game eventually and content does not really get overlevelled.

You have to go far enough in MSQ I think around level 10 the first instanced fight. Then you have to unlocks the leves in the main city you started in based on your first DoW/DoM jobs. That unlocks leves in general, then the ARR towns/cities will have the leves of X quests for you to unlock.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. The quest is located at the Grand Company base you chose and you'll need to buy the Chocobo Issuance from your Grand Company Quartermaster. You can get the 200 needed Grand Company seals by doing the main story quest that comes after 'The Company You Keep'.

'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

Basically, every cast of an ability or gcd has an inherent animation lock of at least 0.7s. This means that within a 2.5 gcd you can jam 2 more 0.7s ogcd casts in comfortably and then not delay your next gcd. For jumps this isn't the case because their animation locks are much high, at around 1.4s @shy creek

Theres a clear distinction that needs to be made here. Weaponskills and spells are what you would call gcd casted skills. Abilities are what you would call ogcd skills. Weaving is the act of putting abilities in between casts of weaponskills an spells that are instant. Jump is an ability, but full thrust and true thrust are weaponskills
