Why can't I enter this server?

Standard, Preferred, and New Servers will dynamically open and close themselves from newly created characters depending on how many players are online. To ensure you're able to make a new character on your server try waiting or doing so at a less active time of day.
Congested Servers will not unlock for new players or transfers until Square Enix removes the Congested Status.

Which world should I pick?

You can play on any world on any datacenter within FFXIV. Aside from the languages spoken, the physical location of the servers, and the status of each world, there are no major differences. This also means population on a given server is quite meaningless.

The majority of content is cross-world, with the exception of Free Companies, Linkshells, and restrictions when visiting other worlds.

If you don't mind where you play, choose a world that is Preferred or New for character creation bonuses. Check world status by using !status <world name> or via the Lodestone. For information about the status types, use !faq worldtype.

• Tonberry & Kujata (Large amount of Oceanic players)

Hi! Noob question: does this game get at least a little challenging after 50 or so? I know there are savages and ultimates but it takes ages to go thru MSQ, and up until lvl 30 everything has been so braindead easy, you don't even have to dodge anything, just press 1-2-3 while watching videos or series

I’m 52 now as a new player! It does ramp up. I don’t think it’s challenging yet. But it’s enough of a challenge to focus on abilities, positions etc. It’s allowed me to keep learning and feel more comfortable for the challenge to hopefully come!

For alliance raids, to unlock the roulette you gotta do the first set of alliance raids that start with the "Legacy of allag" quest in Mor dhona (it's a questchain)
