Grade 4 stuff that is used (grade 1-3 is not in-game anymore so you instantly use the grade 4 recipe) require at least level 21 miner, fisher or botanist to gather

Typically Job Quests are contained within their expansions separately. If you have not reached the next expansion in , you need to continue the main story quests until you reach the next expansion, denoted by giant letters naming said expansion.

'When can I get my first mount?'

The quest that allows you to use mounts, 'My Little Chocobo' is unlocked by completing the level 20 main story quest 'The Company You Keep'. 'Are there any differences between mounts?'

Besides looks, all mounts are the same speed along with being able to fly. Some mounts allow multiple people to ride at once.

'Can I make my mount faster?'

Zones have one or two ranks of mount speed that increase the ground speed of mounts. The first rank comes from completing specific quests in the main scenario quests, with the second rank coming from Riding Maps which are bought with either Allied Seals, Centurio Seals, or Bicolor Gemstones. Mount Speed Boosts do not increase the flying speed of mounts.

For 1-40
Carpenter need 5 grade 4 skybuilder switch (from diadem) and 1 yew log (from overworld gathering)

For 40-60
Carpenter need 5 Grade 4 mahogany , 5 grade 4 salt (both from diadem), 1 mythril (overworld gathering then craft it)

The 3 items here is in same level node (tho 2 is botanist 1 is miner) so you end up going between nodes

Whichever region you're in, the closest vendor will generally have high-level accessories. That said, I'd recommend running a dungeon or two instead.
