do note that getting to endgame takes a while since the story is the main focus of FFXIV
so take it slow and enjoy the ride, you got plenty of time to catch up

it's not like World of Warcraft, where you have to grind to get to max level and then jump into high-end content. it's more like a normal final fantasy game, and at the end you get access to it. so enjoy the story, the pacing is a little hit or miss early on, but it's not a grind. not in the wow equivalent of the term

hi o/ i must be missing something really obvious with getting started on blue mage. just finished Out of the Blue with my lvl 58 conjurer, got the soul crystal and the outfit, but i can't equip the soul crystal, it says "To equip the Soul of the Blue Mage you must first change your class to Blue Mage". for white mage all i have to do to switch to that class is equip the soul crystal, is there an extra step for blue mage?

White = leveling crafted gear

I can’t speak for the acting quality of the other languages aside from English but I am aware that only the English actors got swapped out. Although it does probably improve given that they had more time for recording, unlike ARR’s incredibly short turn around.

Which makes you think you need to go to the Sea of Clouds area
but you're really supposed to fish off the cliff in Cortheas
