I'm a former player that left for a really long time, but recent news has gotten me interested in returning. I never got far (just started HW I think), but I remember I was always playing alone so it got really lonely and hard to continue. I didn't know how to make friends since the only time I saw people was through random people during instances and they'd leave right after. On top of that, the one friend who invited me to play was way ahead of me so she never quested with me, then she secretly switched servers and left me behind, which made me feel awful.
I also had trouble getting into the game bc I'd always feel so overwhelmed trying to keep up with mechanics. I'd be so focused on trying to press my skills in the right order I'd miss the boss moves on my screen, or just be too slow to react. I knew this game was heavy on cooperation, so I always felt super guilty for not knowing what I was doing, and I guess I gave myself too much pressure to be able to enjoy the game properly. Like I'd look up guides to every instance before I entered, but I'd never be able to memorize everything, then panicked when I went in like it was some exam. Even by the time I left I still didn't feel confident playing and often felt confused.
That being said, is now a good time to come back? Any advice on how to get better/get back into things without making a new account to start over? I'd say I'm kind of a pseudo-newbie, so I'd really appreciate any kind of help or support.
Also I might consider transferring servers, any idea which ones are populated and friendly?

but the thing with leves is that you're limited by your allowances, and getting the higher scores on them can get harder as you'll need to keep somewhat geared

so you can go longer without upgrading
diadem lets you potentially get more gil since you can sell the materials gathered from it on the marketboard, whereas leves is just strictly gil given from the leve itself, you can't sell the leve items
