NMs work differently. You have to kill a set number of specific mobs to trigger a NM to spawn, which takes the form of a fate. Each has a respawn timer. So NM trains work together to prep fates and then kill them in sequence.

the biggest part of FFXIV is learning to pace oneself. The game is sloooow at the start and you should go with this expectation at the start

- Nope, it's a mix of both regular non-weeb fantasy and weeb/anime fantasy. Really, there's no gatekeeping about it and I see there's no distinct divide between weebs/non-weebs
- It's not a big focus/popular but it is still there and honestly I like it a lot. Worth a try, not completely dead or abandoned or anything.
- Don't be an ass, you'll be fine. Mentioning direct DPS numbers is against the ToS though, as your friend did. It can happen so just try to stay out of trouble.
- Tons. May not be your cup of tea for al ot of the stuff but there's a fair amount of it. Large amount of 'hard' content like end-game raids too.

Whm is pretty gcd based. It doesn't have ruin 2, so you can't really maintain uptime like SCH does. You have to either very carefully plan your ogcds or risk wasting lilies or hardclipping. But you get basically free heals from lilies.
