You don't get sub rewards until you are actually On sub time. The game doesn't register your subtime until it starts. Once it does start, it then adds the sub time in, all of it at once.

But if I use Hypercharge in the first half of a GCD window in Savage, I drop a Heat Blast
And I can visible see that the 5th Heat Blast is casted out on my end, and the GCD already started rolling for me
But then the server said no, and the game rolled back as if I haven't got the 5th Heatblast out
It was weird because it's something I never experienced before starting Savage

The normal modes are unlocked from a chain that starts from Soroban branching off the MSQ in 4.2. Following that chain will unlock Hell's Lid, Byakko, Swallow's Compass, Suzaku, and Seiryu. For the Extremes, talk to the Wandering Minstral in Kugane after you've done each trial in normal mode.
The quest chain starts with A Tortoise in Time, in the Ruby Sea
To give you a heads up, Lakshmi, Susano, and Shinryu's doggos are going to be in Irregular Tomestones of Pageantry starting on Friday, so you might decide to put off grinding those if you haven't already.

Have a question for other returners - I started playing again for the first time since... well, 2.0 came out really. I think Nov 2013 was the last time I played.
After i've picked it up again here this week, i'm noticing that all of my class and job quests have been reset. All of my DoH/L jobs are back to the Lv1 quests and most of my DoW/DoM are as well - except for MNK & ACN. I definitely did a lot more in the game than it's showing me. Like - I'm Lv 50 BRD and have my Choral Gear + Ifirit & Mog Bows, but at the guild, I have to start over at Lv1 quests.
Is this a fluke for me or has this been seen before?

Always start with first skill to proc highlights on other skills which will give you buffs & sword meter & one of the 3 symbols. Each symbol does 1 specific skill and each combination of the 3 symbols does a specific skill. I wish I could elaborate more but I'm not on my pc to show

free trial doesn't really have much they can spend it on, at least in a constructive way.
Though, you can unlock the ARR/HW beast tribes and spend gil on the mounts and minions you unlock from them as you rank up through daily quests
When you hit the needed rank to buy them, the minions are 25k gil and the mounts are 125k

if you can spare the gil, see what pieces of exarchic on the marketboard are cheap for you and can quickly increase your average item level
and once you complete the patch 5.3 story you can unlock the third tier of eden raids for i510 gear
There's also the YorHa 24-man raid series for i490 left-side gear and the third raid having weekly locked i520 gear.

they said that nocturnal will be getting significantly reworked as scholar/sage will be shield healers while whm/astro will be regen based, but we don't know anything about any 6.0 jobs so 
play it while you can, come to the conclusion that shields are way less efficient than regens especially in dungeons, switch to diurnal, profit
