Preferred servers will basically just give you an xp buff for all classes under level 70 until the buff expires (90 days after character creation OR when the server changes to standard status, whichever comes second)
Practically speaking, you don't need the preferred server buff to keep your level up to MSQ level.

To clarify a little on why we don't recommend doing multi-ability macros like that there are a few reasons.
The first is that macros like that are prone to skipping or cancelling entirely because the game reads each line individually and sequentially, so basically it would be like you having all four skills on your bar (regardless of whether the job could use them), and manually going down the list until you hit the one you could cast. You wouldn't be able to move or do anything else until the cast finished executing.
Second, macroing multiple spells together in general, even if they're on the same class, will lose gcds (again related to how the game reads macros).

- The latency to this server is fricking 140+ ms for me
- It's only 30ms for a friend in the UK
- I am not using a VPN
- This high latency is only sometimes.. about 3 hours ago everything was fine
- I tried restarting the client multiple times but I keep getting connected to the same IP with the same bad latency

hey so i've been getting a friend of mine into the game. because she doesn't play that much each day but DOES enjoy the daily dungeon roulette she's already WHM 35 while her MSQ is still only like level 22 (somewhere in the sylph arc). At this rate she's probably going to hit 50 before reaching Titan lol. the ARR story hasn't really hooked her but she loves dragons and would really enjoy HW so I have a couple questions about the story skip.
If our goal is to quickly get to HW then slow down to properly enjoy the game, is her best option to continue MSQ and daily roulette until 50 then get the skip so she can take advantage of msq xp rewards to reach 50? or should we grab the skip earlier to immediately unlock higher level dungeons etc that would normally be gated behind MSQ progress?
