Normal is one item per floor per week, you can run it as many times as you want until you get an item. No books.
Savage, you get one clear per floor per week where you can get loot. You always get a book for that first clear of the week, and then you have the chance to roll on any loot from the chests. You can win every drop, no drops, or anything in between, but even if you don't win anything you can't run it again for another chance at an item, have to wait until next week

i watched this video (dated 2020 so its reasonably) up to date but right now from level 40-50 my single target rotation as i call it is fire 3 > fire > fire> manafont > fire > fire > fire > fire > blizz 3 for mana > thunder 1
