I'm halfway through 2.5 with about 40 hours played, and I expect it will be another 8 or so to finish through the end of 2.55 on my alt.
And that's with knowing where I'm going, streamlining my quest objectives, and only doing specific content quests.

@acoustic mortar just dont make the mistake of telling your friends "it gets better" because they assume they mean the quests stop being boring... they dont really, the story gets better (subjective) but you still do fetch quest after fetch quest
now i havent played shadowbringers so i cant comment on that, but at least HW which people claim is miles ahead of ARR is still a boring slog gameplay wise

Well, a patch and a half.
5.5 will have the final alliance raid, another dungeon, MSQ, the last Sorrows of Werlyt trial, etc. in the usual fashion.
And 5.55 will have the rest of the 6.0 run up MSQ, which will likely include yet another dungeon.

Much appreciated! I created a character and played for a bit back when they announced the level 35 cap but fell off because I was overwhelmed with the side quests and didn’t really have an MMO itch I wanted to scratch.

SCH is still likely to be fairly different from Sage in terms of how they play, due in large part to the fairy, plus whatever unique mechanic(like fairy+gauge, lilies and cards) they have
also at least at max level, the whole shield aspect isn't used THAT much, mostly in endgame content for the raidwides that really hurt, which you mostly only find in savage/ultimates

100 Allowances should net you around 1.8m gil

It also depends on your crafting. I tended to make OJ as a quick EXP food as I had a CUL and Botanist, so I could easily pop over to Lower LN as I had an Apt in the mist, grab some oranges, and craft up some OJ really quick for no gil expense.

Finally starting to get used to MCH, still not 100% sure if it's simpler than DNC but I'm having fun so that's ok. I think it might be simpler once I get used to it, but the swap from ST to AoE is a bit harder on this char vs the DNC. howdy doods i been playing ff14 on the ps3-4 version since launch and finally got a gaming laptop this year and bought today FF14 for it but it keeps crashing without any error and when i switch to Dx9 it works but i cant get into Shadowbrighter content cause im stuck in to the endless loop of loading can someone help me with this?

BLUE MAGE: I was calculating the PoT/sec of the spells and glass dance came out to 3.9 while devour is at 4.1, yet I see guides that say drop devour as DPS don't need it for the slot cost yet keep glass dance, I don't even see this brought up for tanks. Am I missing something here?

Is Phantom Flurry only worth it on crowds? From what I can tell you get two ticks at 200 PoT each and then a 600 PoT hit, for 1000 PoT total. considering how many GCDs this takes up, waiting for the 200 ticks doesn't seem worth it. Should I just double tap for the 600 right away on bosses?
