Besides Culinarian, it’s generally best to level them all up at roughly the same pace so you can efficiently share gear to save room in your armoury
Also so they can make materials for each other, which is why I put Culinarian as not as important to keep up to pace

Let me put this into perspective:
If a dragoon is .5 seconds off his GCD timer, he misses a DoT right as a boss goes invincible, losing out on a ton of damage that could make or break the given run of a boss.
I think that's specifically Shiva.
Also boss mechanics are mind-meltingly complicated in comparison to WoW (did you mention you were from WoW? I can't remember)

as for all the steps to go through to get the parser to work, a large part of the issue is there's no dedicated 3rd party for FFXIV, ACT is an EQ2 parser after all, then it was adapted to XIV with a plugin, and the guy who makes ACT has very little interest in fixing stuff for XIV

wow addons work well because blizz provides an environment and api for them to run inside the game. this means that they don't have to hack into the game from 'outside', and are limited in what they can do so they can't be used for cheating

The "smartest" you can make macros is stuff like <t>, <tt>, <mo> (target, target of target, mouseover respectively)

All of them at once. You could have used the same gear from WVR, GSM, and BSM on the rest.

I found it difficult to make good gear while syncing them. The crafts where too hard(though I am more experienced now so it might be different)
But now that those 3 are 80 I don't see much point in syncing them as they don't scale much with the rest besides the odd cross class tool crafting

The current expac, Shadowbringers, is fucking awesome. Endgame content is plentiful and difficult even in normal fights, with savage/extreme trials testing everyone’s limits.
Gear looks cool, skills look awesome, everyone’s chosen job is effective and excellent in its own ways (except for BLU, it’s still a very fun meme).
