You must mine it yourself as a collectible; the collectibility rating affects how good/how many clusters and aethersands you get. The ones you bought off the marketboard must have been gathered before patch 5.4: you now automatically gather them as collectables no matter what.

About Lightspeed, I think (and I may be wrong) that even if it reduces casting time, I still need cd time, so its kinda useless for using it in benefic II after the first use, so I use Lightspeed when someone dies and I need to res him because the long casting time.
