If you want to save Gil it’s generally best to level up all 8 of them together to share gear and crafting materials
Culinarian can be ignored if desired since they don’t make materials for the other crafting classes

For the most part you won't be hitting the stat caps since all gear comes with 1 stat maxed out and the other mostly filled out. You can either max out the secondary stat or pump some of the other stats up if you want, but stat caps are mostly irrelevant since savage gear is always better due to higher main stats. Also can't overmeld non crafted gear so unless you're 1% optimizating disposable gear should just go for comfortable and work up your item level from there

Specifically, cancelling synthesis before doing any actions always refunds, but cancelling a synthesis past the first step always has the materials already consumed, with a chance to refund.
It's low enough you definitely shouldn't rely on it but it's nice when it happens

BLU spell learning % is tied to a few factors. You can increase the probability to near 100% by doing the instance synced with other BLU who also need to learn the spell.
You also do need to ensure that you actually see the spell be cast.

Only reason you might want a second character would be if you want to for roleplaying, extra retainer space(requires being in the same FC to trade and have stoarge privileges) due to not wanting to pay for more retainers, or play on another data center with friends or for a second raid lockout

To be clear, while you can set up a sequence macro to use a number of skills or spells in sequence with a single button push, the only valid use for that is for crafting, as doing so with combat spells and abilities both loses you dps, and is liable to glitch if you accidentally hit a different button while it's executing... and sometimes if you don't it will glitch anyways.
It is always better to push the buttons yourself.

u adjust your pulls based on your healer's comfort and skill level
use invulns for large pulls
use damage mitigation cooldowns for medium pulls
dont forget to use arm's length
it sounds counterintuitive, but arm's length has saved me many times in very large pulls
as arm's length automatically slows down all the mobs
it's a very good indirect damage mitigation cooldown
i dont think arm's length is stressed enough here

one of the best ways: ask them!
another is paying attention to their casts
if you see a lot of damage spells going out while you're not dying, its safe to say that they know what they're doing
if you constantly see yourself at 99% hp and being topped off with a cure/benefic/physick, then depending on the level of the encounter they may not be quite as experienced
its a very context specific thing
if you do your job, their job becomes much easier as well

sometimes in a large pull, or when the mobs are spread apart, it's easy for one or two mobs to aggro the healer or dps

As Channy said, just ask. As a healer, I always appreciate it when tanks ask me at the beginning of an instance if I'm okay with big pulls instead of just assuming.
Although a competent healer will also be paying attention to your actions as the tank, and making decisions based on that.

Folklore isn’t something you have to worry about quite yet. They don’t become a thing until 60. Although to explain what they are, they’re like master recipe books for crafters. Buy the books to unlock high end nodes for that expansion.

My gatherers are all 70 and have the 70 job quests done. I just started leveling all DoH evenly, recently, they’re all sitting in low50s and I’m doing the lv53 job quests

Not really, once you get the mudras down it becomes simple. And for those I just assigned each mudra a # in my head (Ten = 1, Chi =2, Jin =3) and used that to memorize the ninjustsu. And then I ignored the possiblity of multiple combos. I just commited to a single one for each

Dont use firestarter really to swap back to fire. You're losing the AF buff on it and Fire 3 is already quick cast in UI

So all the specialist recipes in this patch will become normal recipes once 5.5 hits
