Short update, I may have fixed it. Disabled the XMP profile in my BIOS and have not encountered issues since then. Not done with testing yet but I am hopeful

io shield isn't used for dissipation so its fine

if you paint your heatsink temperature will go up because its a layer ontop of the actual heat dissipation and its gonna trap some there

so not advisable

unless you can anodize it yourself (you probably cant)

leave the dissipation holes unpainted

idk if these are or not, looks like it

but whatever is plastic you can just paint

or even metal that you cant see has no use other than for aesthetics

you CAN paint heatsinks but if you're gonna do it

do as much as you can with thin layers

i guess just look what looks best and isn't gonna have a composition that wont hurt the metal/plastic ?

thing is when it comes to stuff like cpu coolers it uses convection so it should be somewhat fine

spray paints dont screw up convection that much but you will see some single digits up

Micro center is on the opposite of new egg when it comes to quality between them
