I stand behind my "nissans are garbage and I'm glad they're going bankrupt"
with the vq v6
hm what else was there
and what made me laugh
the maxima is fwd, has less front leg room than my 300... gets worse gas mileage... and requires 91 gas
it's slower too
Ur bloodline will be cursed for generations
but the vq does have an entertaining sound to it
in cvt auto mode it sounds like a sheep
going baaaah
VQ more like V poop
Jk
It’s ok in the Z’s
Minus the new one
350/370 are pretty good
the altima is a legendary car
370 NISMO is a genuinely impressive car
even car wizard acknowledges this like
idk what people do with them but they're basically the nokia of cars
you see them sometimes driving around with 2 doors the wrong color, missing bumpers, missing paint
still runs better than some new cars
it's kinda like the miata but like
maybe a mustang? dodge charger?
"It's a great car but I don't wanna be seen driving it"
they are cool little cars
The 350 is always comparable to an M3 or M4
i also think the miata stigma is long gone
Or sorry
car stigma is a funny thing though
you can't curse people who already have a bigger curse
👼
350/370 get to be BMW M competitors
and it's somehow worse lmao
Ur not Filipino tho
What curse is greater than Filipino
hmmm
huh
lots of other regions in the world actually
i thought mrab was filipino lol
is worse
Damn LMAO
man you guys have like 0 memory
Rab is everything and nothing
Rab be going to Taiwan occasionally which should tell you
Well
It doesn’t actually cause
it doesn't mean anything anyway lol
she has my curse oh no
honorary filipino
People think ur basic person from one country and ur like “nah im multiple bitc”
lets go get some lumpias
like me lol
i wanna see more
but at that point why isn't it just a volkswagen
i can't find a version that cheap
Some VR good news. My headset now works again
yay1
New tariffs literally impact less than 10% of imported cars that’s so funny
They do impact parts massively tho
Wow all these decades old supply lines that make it incredibly cheap to manufacture complex machined parts in Asia and Europe thrown out the window
There is a reason why bearings come from Korea and starters/generators come from Japan
i stumbled upon a whole genre of funny youtube videos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGRP02cgOVM i like the ding dongs
this is pretty decent
for the price no?
-giggles- @hot shadow we should tell him to put an aio cpu cooler in it
ever since that incident i never forget when i see that asus computer lmao
the gpu is worth like $400 raz
idk what prebuilt economics are like, but it's probably not worth more than the sum of its parts
also per the joke, those come with a little heatsink/fan combo for the cpu that gets loud
I'm strong supporter of everyone just getting an aio tru
only further enthusiasts who don't mind can go fiddle with tubing n custom colors n the pump n Sarah leaks
hehe nah i was referencing one time someone bought that asus tower
and they complained about it running so hot so someone told them to stick an aio in it
and they actually tried that but they had no idea what they were doing so they broke something
but they were able to fix whatever they broke so it all worked ou
ono
how tf you break something in that context omg
it's like two sturdy blocks and 2 pipes lmao
i forgot XD
Not really
The only rly valuable part is the 3080
And it’s a 10GB 3080 so it’s barely worth half of what the pc costs if that
If they’d take like $700 I’d think that’s more fair
Hmm OK
If u can’t find anything better and need it now it’s definitely better than the majority of prebuilts I’ve seen new but I’ve seen better deals on eBay recently too
its not for me its for a friend lol
gdi, my gfs 6700xt keeps booting into a blackscreen and doesnt get a signal. sometimes we gotta reboot it 1-2 times before it works just fine, other times like today its 10-20 times before we get a picture.
so i guess its time for a new GPU
good to know that there are many people who had this or similar issues with the asus x570 dark hero
great QC for your 450€ board asus. thank you.
tried a different gpu now and still no picture, good thing i still have a B550 steel legend here
ASUS stuff
Tbf they don’t go wrong often but when it goes wrong it’s a pain in the ass to resolve with them
Well their rog stuff doesn’t go wrong as often
The tuf ones are of dubious quality
And prime
maybe it isnt asus after all
someone tell me if i missed something but:
we tried a different gpu, no success
we tried only one of 4 ram sticks, no success
we tried an entirely different board, this one first said memory issue, so we reset cmos etc
now it keeps saying it cant detect a VGA.
fans of the gpu are also not spinning, but all cables sit as they should.
this makes me think that it might be a power supply issue
for whatever reason.
but the only other we can test with is the one in my pc and i really dont wanna undo my cable management for testing purposes lmao
i heard asrock is the same 😦
Nah they’re fine
it was one of a few reasons I sat on my new gpu for like a week before opening it
Or atl better than ASUs by a lot
lots of bad cs stories
ASUS don’t only ignore u but when they do ‘help’ u they try and rip u off in repair costs
Someone got charged like twice the value of a 4090 for a repair once back last year
and asoooose doesn't really have the build quality deserving of the reputation they are uh given by the community
Worst case asrock just aren’t super easy to contact
But their warranty is solid and they don’t fuck u over if u can get them to talk to u
ROG stuff is good, it’s not anywhere close to that price they’re charging
It’s probably the only thing they sell that is good but it’s twice the price it needs to be half the time
Gigabyte aorus is sooo much better
and idk about their current crop of GPUs
They’re not amazing
The 50 series astral one had an issue but no idea if it’s QC or not
i'm not sure asus ever made a good radeon card lol
GN bought it I think or whatever
the 10 series were too flexible LOL
some gpus are more likely to sag than others regardless of their size
Next thing I buy is yeston or gigabyte if they’re semi reasonable
i want a yeston >>
Gigabyte I avoided for 40 series bc of PCB snapping
i now have an asrock and I like it!
They seem fine now tho
Yeah they’re making good GPUs and motherboards rn
i dont fucking understand
we got error d6 all this time, then someone said "hey unplug monitor", which we did to no success.
then we tried just power and nothing else and got error d7, which is no keyboard or mouse found.
plugged one in, no dice, back to d6 or 98.
98 apparently is a potential issue with usb devices, so we tried a different mouse and no keyboard and it still didnt work, gave us error 98.
plugged it out again but with monitor plugged in and suddenly it boots???
plugged in old keyboard and mouse and it just fucking works now??? what
oh right, because someone said it on the internet, we also put the gpu in the second slot to test and there it worked
because second slot is pcie 3.0 and not 4.0 and someone said that the b550 steel legend has some fuckery going on with pcie 4.0
welp, set it to 3.0 in the bios now, so lets see if it still boots when we put all ram back in and gpu back to slot 1
yikes 😦
nope, doesnt work anymore. error code 0d which means whatever the fuck
zero dick
found the broken ram stick i guess
so in summary:
if you get a variety of error codes from your mainboard, ranging from pcie failure over no vga found or usb device error etc and you try different GPUs and mainboards and even your GPU fans arent spinning as they normally do, then its probably the ram
i fucking love technology
i fucking love that cosair only gives 2 years of warranty
also we still got errors when we only had that one working ramstick in there. so this is even more of a fucking mystery
five fucking hours of troubleshooting lmao
also mindfactory wiped their database so i had to make a new account, so my order history is gone and i cant give corsair the receipt.
still fuck asus tho
it makes sense
Yeah their x870 is crazy like $180 lol
Same price as the msi and ASUs b650
All DRAM memory modules have a limited lifetime warranty
corsair ram is lifetime and... for some reason likes to break lmao
"limited warranty" is what they say but never explain what the fuck it actually means
but yeah i need the receipt either way and i cant get it anymore
so i will just have to buy new ram i guess, because 16gb is cutting it very close
limited == "we only cover problems caused by defects it had when it was made"
oh great so it dying 3 years down the line wont count huh
it usually counts
thing is, they sell you ram that they promise will run at an overclocked speed
really when you buy overclocked ram you and the manufacturer are gambling that it will actually last the length of the warranty at the overclocked speeds
sure, but dying after 3 years of 3600mhz is kinda pathetic
if you overclocked some white label jedec spec ram they won't warranty it lmao
it is
but you should be covered anyway
since it's lifetime warranty i'd suggest contacting them anyway
usually you need the receipt to establish the warranty start datte
also the weird ass fucking issues it caused. like the pc booting up just fine just refusing to give out signal until you reboot 1-20 times like wtf
well, i would try either way, if i had the receipt
try anyway?
like contact cs?
eve without the receipt they should be able to do something
maybe if mindfactory gives me the written confirmation that the deleted it all and cant give me my order history
dont have them anymore
that sucks 😦
We’re removing the bypassnro.cmd script from the build to enhance security and user experience of Windows 11. This change ensures that all users exit setup with internet connectivity and a Microsoft Account.
ah yes, "enhance security"
security of their profits
i already said this before, ms is a bit of a user hostile company
Which Corsair ram was it
If it’s LPX there’s no surprise
just find the reasoning funny
Ur lucky it went 3 lmao
I'm surprised they don't just straight up say it
4x8 lpx ye
MS doesn't respect end users because they don't sell windows to end users
they sell it to businesses for their employees to use it to do their jobs, and they provide all sorts of knobs and buttons for the business management to control and monitor what their employees do with it
that's every MS product ever
Yeah they’re known for dying, happens
the 'consumer version' of windows just swaps out the business controlling/monitoring it, with ms and their real customers (advertisers or whoever they sell the data to)
The only ddr4 that’s been this bad
I think we talked about it here before with someone else
funny how everything corsair i have ever owned either didnt work properly or died spectacularly
my 2 psus from them all died in a shower of sparks
mmm
My first ddr5 kit was Corsair that stopped working after a month
my vengeance rgb ddr4 had a stick die too lol
my RGB mousepad still never works unless i unplug and replug it post boot
known issue, they fixed it
Only Corsair product I have is the psu now
a lot of the time it only lights up when the computer is off lmao
i have a corsair keyboard, it's beautiful :3 but i need to switch one of the switches out because it keeps chattering eeeeeee
I have a steelseries keyboard bc it was cheap as hell
lol
sometimes actual mechanical keyboards/parts show up in amazon vine
most of the time it's just shitty ipad case keyboards
ahh imma put bazzite on a usb stick and see how it likes my 9070xt
if you are really lucky and get a ferrari allocation that lets you do full custom options, you can get colored carbon under the hood!
i'm guessing you have to be born to a certain family
no
the allocations are randomized at that point
some people get full allocation, some people dont get the atelier service
so you can be unlucky and own 5 different f40's and get an allocation where you cant do a full bespoke mismatching seat every panel is a different color type deal
its kinda the deal with porsche even
not everbody can just go "I want the special treatment with my car and have it done by sonderwunsch"
and then its not even a matter of whos who most of the time, its usually just Porsche likes doing commissions that reflect good on the brand, sometimes the special wishes cars are attrocious however
the 993 Speedster they did was one of those examples of a car that exists purely because Porsche engineers thought it would be a good exercise in custom fabrication
Brand new 27 year old car
I always thought the matching was cool. like having stitching/seat panels/dash panels that match the exterior color or play off it nicely
like those yellow gauges and steering wheel stitching are awesome
idk from that angle that porsche reminds me of a 2006 thunderbird
i think it's just the shape of the headlights combined with the shape of the fenders heheh
this is a bummer
It should be an easy solution really
It happened for the exact same reason with the 7800x3d
And it was specific board manufacturers asus and asrock included
why are those manufacturers killing the x3d cpus
Is the corsair vengeance ram ok?
https://www.reddit.com/r/laptops/s/A3jrgA3zoC
@lost python @inland mauve
holy fuck LOL
you know it's a good bug when the whole thread is full of "wait what the fuck"
WTF indeed
Small update to this adventure: once again no signal on boot
Is the fucking cpu toast or what
If it ain’t the board, ram, gpu or psu then I am running out of options
No error code on the board. Just no signal idgi
hahahhahahahah
if I had to guess, a lot of web video players are doing some kinda hardware decoding thing where the video is overlaid (dumped straight into the framebuffer). My terminology and what's actually going on might be off
my guess is the split screen thing is screwing up with the hardware decoding
it'd probably stop if they disabled it
but they're not using like some kinda software to literally split the screen so idk that's a hilarious glitch
probally a nvdia hardware thing yeah
bios issues bc the x3d CPUs are voltage sensitive probably
U couldn’t OC the 7800x3d for similar reasons
I would’ve expected the 9800x3d to not have so many issues with it tho so idk
because asrock engineers are eating glue https://videocardz.com/newz/first-user-reports-ryzen-9-9950x3d-cpu-not-booting-on-asrock-x870-motherboard-after-just-9-days-of-use
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D not working after 9 days on ASRock motherboard ASRock says the motherboard isn’t the problem. While one shouldn’t jump to conclusions without proper testing, the number of ASRock motherboards having issues with Ryzen 9000 CPUs is visibly larger than among competitors. The ASRock subreddit has seen many cases of Ryzen 9000...
Idk what’s going on with them, it’s interesting
Hopefully it gets fixed soon anyway
Although I imagine it’s much like the earlier issues and 40 series issues where the failure rate is actually incredibly small relative to how many are produced but large enough in number to look bad online
Are issues with 9070 fixed already? I was wondering between 9070 vs 5070 and while 9070 seems to better choice overall it struggles a lot in ffxiv.
It doesn’t struggle at all
It’s getting 120+ fps at 1440p and it’s just further behind the 5070 than it should be
According to gamer nexus it does underperform compared to other titles
Yes
But that doesn’t mean it’s struggling
It’s still pushing well over 100fps at 1440p max and over 60 at 4K
And that will get fixed eventually anyway but it’s more than usable rn
Yeah I was just wondering if it's fixed already
Since gpu was released like a month ago
Not yet
It was released like 3 weeks ago
That’s not actually that long for an issue that’s not high priority anyway
AMD has always fixed drivers for games that aren’t working as they should tho this won’t be any different
Let's hope so
The only company id be concerned about drivers for is Intel bc they take about a year to fix things
Yeah
Honestly if I still had to upgrade from my 1080ti I'd have gone with the 9070xt tbh
Currently have a 4070ti super since it was imo the better choice a year ago when the main other option was 7900xt mainly cuz localized pricing differences, and, at the time, "features".
Of which I actually use like none of, realistically
Yeah I bought a 4070ti bc AMD decided to make the 7900xt like £900
They wanted to upsell to the xtx
Idc about upscaling that much especially with fsr4
But I care about DLAA if I’m not using upscaling
Ray reconstruction also very cool
At the time I was looking at performance for HFW specifically
But then I ended up just playing xiv the whole time
I just play a lot of cyberpunk lol
Path tracing is the only reason I’d buy another Nvidia gpu if they’re reasonably priced
The 9070xt can do it now just not that well still
I am still glad I got a strong gpu either way tho since my gpu still gets maxed utilization in xiv with mxao at the resolution I play at even with an 8700k lmao
RT is eh in a lot of games but games that support PT it’s like going up another 2 settings above ultra in texture quality when u look at it
Yeah it looks interesting to me
I haven't played any games that support it yet tho
Cyberpunk or AW2 are probably the best ones out there
Know of any off the top of your head as some examples? I kinda live under a rock in terms of what games are out
Quicker than me on that one
Ooh survival horror
Interesting
There’s a few others but their implementation isn’t as impressive
Or they’re just not actually that good as games and are more tech demos
I imagine the next Witcher game will have it as well bc it’s CDPR
In dark scenes it made a huge difference
Actually character models and the shadows on them were also pretty huge
But yeah 9070xt can do it now u just need mods to optimise it further to make it more playable lol
That does look a lot better tho
Yeah and character lighting lol
Lights get diffused properly instead of randomly popping up in shadows where there’s no light source
anyone know if the newest amd update plays well with xiv? im still on 24.12 lol
Yup!
And considering their new UE version is super modded (Mix of UE and their Red Engine with further optimisation on the UE side for open world games)
I suspect we'll see something new on the RT side as well, considering Nvidia gave them the new RTX cards BEFORE they were even announced (and let's be real, CDPR is literally just a walking AD for game technology at this point)
Yeah red engine is crazy for the RT stuff especially
Mixing the best parts of it with UE so it’s easier to do development and optimise could be great or terrible
It's CDPR
Cyberpunk runs great on/using certain CPUs alone
I doubt they'd do pep talks in certain events about UE optimization for open world games and have their first game using UE run terribly
Especially considering Witcher 4 is only releasing post 2026 (likely late 2027) which means it'd be in development for 5 and a half years
Are we forgetting how the Witcher games and cyberpunk released
That's before
I want them to release it in the state they are a year later usually
Phantom Liberty released flawlessly
Yeah but that’s not difficult
And they now implemented a new system
Witcher 4 already has the longest pre-production timeline of ANY of their past games
It's double Cyberpunk pre-production time
I have hopes.
(yeah I've been pretty on top of CDPR related stuff
)
They're also implementing AI to run around their maps to check for bad performance spots, so ye, I think it'll be a pretty solid launch performance wise. Hopefully.
maybe they'll include another segment that triggers photosensitive seizures in Witcher 4 and when it's pointed out by a reviewer, their deranged fans can send videos and images deliberately designed to trigger seizures to the person who writes the review!
you know
again!
because once wasn't enough
I have hopes but there’s a chance they somehow do mess it up
I’ll buy it either way bc they always fix their issues
Something I do actually appreciate is they care about games after they release for more than a month
It's a day 1 for me regardless
But I do hope they actually learned their lessons and so far everything points to a big Yes.
Some of their fans do be weird
There's also the weirdos in every fanbase
Witcher might be for me, next cyberpunk game definitely is but we got a few years before that one
Witcher 4 is (very likely) Late 2027
Orion is (allegedly) heading to Pre-production this year so release date is likely 2032/2033
Witcher 1 remake is probably 2029
Witcher 5 likely 2030
Witcher 6 either 2033 or 2034
But that's my guess
The new IP I'm not sure
Cyberpunk I wouldn’t be surprised to see later than 2033 somehow
It feels like the game series they care more about experimenting and getting right compared to the Witcher
I'm a bit worried about the writing quality in Orion tbh
Nothing against Sony and their studios, they have amazing stories, but CDPR hired a lot of writers from Insomniac for Orion
Dunno how that'll translate
Tho! We have the dude who designed New York for the Spidey games! That's huge!
I think it’ll be fine they have enough talented people working for them
If anything takes a hit maybe the side quests won’t be as immersive which I don’t necessarily mind if the campaign is phantom liberty quality
Cause yeah! They now have Lore masters for their IPs
(Tho the Witcher ones have caused some "drama" , just X being X lol)
Knowing the people on the helm for Orion... We might be headed to Depression city
im replaying 2077 again rn
forgot how much better the dlc is to base game for story
and how much easier to run everywhere else is compared to dogtown god damn
it came out after the ps5 instead of before
its great
Which in 1.5 they had started doing it for the graphics (even on pc)
honestly surprised its my cpu that took most of tyhe hit tho
Yup!
If they do great optimisation in a mess of an engine
Imagine what they do when they have a semi-working one
yeah managing to make stuff work in redengine means ue5 should be fine
More than fine id say
the PT in redengine looked way better t han UE5 tho imo
hopefully they keep it looking as good
I think Witcher 4 will bring back PT (thought you said Path Tracing for some reason)
In Phantom Liberty they used Path tracing to do the normal (in engine) shadows
Meanwhile most studios nowadays just brute force RT (fuck you Ubisoft)
i can run path tracing at a good 60fps atm lol
Les gooo!
Yeah... MH Wilds is a mess
But I already expected that after Dragons Dogma
And knowing they still didn't release RE Engine Next lol
I hope to god Re9 uses RE Next
theyre going to beat every ounce of money they can out of that engine
honestly i can run it fine and i know it runs fine for most people on low settings but it doesnt LOOK that good
It's rumoured to be a tad open
But there's like 90 million rumours about that freaking game

wtf
Hello wif
The pricing jumped pretty aggressively, ford planning ahead lol
i'll say
might as well buy a grenedier or something lol
is the bronco not made in the US?
The normal bronco is made in Michigan
But the pricing is gonna get super bad
Main issue being power train is 25% applicable
And fords are just assembled in America lmao
All the bits and pieces are come strictly overseas

new investigation dropped
Yes. I hate question marks in titles.
This deep and insightful investigation unveils years of evidence relating to "AI" and its alleged buzzword status. Like this video for the eventual 10-hour version.
This video is going to be absolutely awful for channel metrics and health, so you should set it to 0.5x and walk away for 20 minutes. But we ...
58% packet loss?
welp, I figured out why my gpu wasn't driving my monitor at full res in linux with the 9070xt.... it doesn't wanna push that many bytes down hdmi right now LOL. Yay drivers.! When I tried displayport it worked fine. at 120hz but still.... that might actually be because I don't have a long enough cable and used my old kvm to extend it LOL
Buy ps5 or nah,?
I mean more context needed for the decision
Do u have anything else already.. what do you want it for..?
If you have a good PC, don't.
If you don't have a good pc, price for price, go for the Pro.
I’d say u can build a better pc for pro price tho as well
If ur just getting into games the digital edition one is the only rly good value one but if u own games already then disk is worth it
yeah but everything else about it is not impressive
5600 + cheap b450/550 and 32gb of ram is like $200 if u buy it new
buying a gpu equivalent is like $200
if u buy half the stuff used it comes in under a ps5
if u buy it new its like $50 more and the utility of having a pc far outweighs anything else
buy better pc, we beg you
PC will last you longer than a console imo
Final fantasy
so it turns out the reason I wasn't getting 7680x2160@240hz on hdmi is the HDMI org doesn't allow open source drivers to use HDMI 2.1
GG.
and! AND! I need displayport 2.1 to do anything more than 120hz.... and that requires a dp54 cable... and getting dp54 to work further than 3m (9.8ft) is pretty dang hard/expensive
and I need at least 4m lol
any way to shorten that distance?
I love that teams on win11 can apparently bypass the system muted volume
It keeps muting itself whenever I disconnect/reconnect it to a docking station and when I joined a meeting the other day I could still hear shit even though it was supposed to be muted
nope not happening
at least it isn't unmuting your mic
hehe
i approve

if any1 can help or has any idea about this
please tell me
My first thought was PSU, but apparently ram is a more likely culprit
Are you able to easily reproduce it?
my ram is new
like, completely new

I got it a few weeks ago to replace.... broken ram
this is gonna be a clown show if it ends up being ram again
yeah, just launch total war warhammer 3, enter a campaign and zoom in and out fast, or play for a few minutes
I bought my ram and reinstalled my windows in order to get rid of my old borked ram that kept showing memory-related blue screens
ahh yeah and I also got a new windows SSD
I do not want to spend more money again
I hate this
this does not happen
when playing master duel or dead by daylight
or another light game
it was happening in daybreak 2 when I had dlss4 enabled
I disabled dlss4 and the hard crashes went away
now I launched tw wh3 to play it and it happened after starting a campaign and its easily reproducible
Is it some weird scaling thing in the Nvidia app that’s been turned on by default
If DLSS 4 is causing it
Try setting your GPU power limit to 80% to lower the load on your PSU and see if it still happens
My initial thought was transient spikes and your PSU not being able to handle them, but the fact that it didn't start happening until recently + you changed your ram before it started happening...
ill do that through the nvidia app
thankfully I do not have to use MSI afterburner now
my PSU is old
but its a Corsair HXi
it is supposed to be really good
I was gonna buy Corsair, but then I read Seasonic makes most of their PSU and decided to skip the middle man
Plus the Seasonic I bought was the cheapest one listed in the highest tier of that one PSU tier list
I set the power limit to 85%
Seasonic don’t make all the same quality psus as Corsair despite being the current OEM for most of their models afaik
lets see now
Corsair has the better 1000+ ones
im just tired of having PC issues
ok so interestinf fact
for tw wh3
I kept the installation files from my old system
without the c drive stuff ofc
scrolling really fast does not seem to trigger it now
maybe we're getting somewhere
no pc hard crash..... so far
maybe it is my PSU
ill enter a battle to see if that does it
no hard crash
hopefully this fixed it
I feel like I massacred my mouses scrollwheel

Should be okay to keep using it with the power limit, but that means gotta start thinking of replacing the PSU soon
:<
I knew it was a long shot to expect my PSU to survive until the 10 year mark
but well, if setting a power limit is enough for now then sure I guess
I'd rather not spend 200+euro on a PSU now
if I was gonna replace it, I was thinking of this one https://www.bestprice.gr/item/2158870433/fspfortron-hydro-ti-pro-1000w.html?qid=aQ97sXLfKdv_3c0c8&seq=1&qo=fsp+hydro+ti+pro+1000w&from=search
but its soooo expensive
that one seems to be highly praised by some
but I have not heard of fsp/forton before
corsair does have a 1000w HXi with atx 3.0
but it is not on any top lists
never heard of that brand either
its in this list though as A+ https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1akCHL7Vhzk_EhrpIGkz8zTEvYfLDcaSpZRB6Xt6JWkc/edit?gid=1973454078#gid=1973454078
could also go 850w
Ur psu went shite again?
the extra 100w can handle the transient spikes
not again
I have had this for
7 years
and it never had any issues
until now apparently?
its brand new, I got it last year so logically it shouldn't
the most likely culprit is the PSU cause its old
but HXi models are very sturdy
You say it hard crashes everytime you play tw wh3?
jumping down in efficiency is a bit of a feelsbad moment ngl, even tho it does not make a difference
demanding game, not necessarily tw wh3
Do you have audio when it hard crashes?
it happened on trails through daybreak 2 when I had dlss4 enabled at DLAA levels which makes it more taxing
no
WTF??
And u dont hear windows notifications?
Like when ur gpu drivers gets disabled and its back on
hm? I have to hard shut down my system and re-boot it to get it to work again
even my USB connections shut down
when it happens
Holy sheet
that's why i pointed fingers at PSU, though some posts made me think RAM could be a culprit
cpu?
im sure that if it was a cpu issue
- seems to have stopped by limiting GPU power to 85%
I would have gotten a blue screen or an event viewer ID
hopefully
but in my case I get no BSOD or even an event viewer ID
which is....unique
Wouldnt the psu spikes turn the whole pc off?
I have zero personal experience with it so I'm not sure lol just guessing game here
this essentially partially happens
when playing a demanding game
I had an black screen issue once
Turns out its my gpu shatting itself cuz its a ex mining card
when playing shit like master duel nothing happens cause the game is so light weight
same with dead by daylight
it's a power issue.
more than a black screen it's more of a partial shutdown
yea
since it's not just the screen going black
Never heard of it before tbh
Mhmm
(I think)
not really that rare isn't your PSU Giga old
Ur right
6-7yrs old
yeah lmfao
but its a corsair HXi
please go bring it outback
mhm
I will once I get more money
moneys tight atm after having spent money on new ram and ssd
idc : P I would've been antsy putting high draw devices on an older psu

hxi or not lmao
I was too, its why I went with a 4080Super instead of anything more powerful
My no name psu died when i was gaming lul
but ye dw ill replace it
man... that brings me back, when i was much much younger I bought one of those generic-brand chinese bombs, it lasted a year before that thing made the foulest smell
i can still recall that smell
but I need more money first
ive never unplugged a pc so damn fast
WTF a smoke smell?
my client had a dell OEM PSU in his shit box and when I booted it BANG
WTF lmao
at least for me, my PSU did not die all at once
Its loud i bet?
thankfully
did it trip a breaker?
thank god I purchased an HXi instead of some no name trash
Yeet
does gold/titanium/plutonium/whatever efficiency matter for the quality of the components inside
beyond a certain point ofc lol
I know some bronze trash is a no go
cause NZXT is gold but that ti hydro forton whatever is platinum
and my current hxi is platinum
like the hydro ti pro is a clear winner on tierlists and whatever
but its also 100euro more expensive
but I also know that I shouldn't skimp out on the PSU
ohh...the hydro ti is titanium, not platinum

thats why they have 10 year warranties as well
high quality should last a long time but they can go wrong
somewhat related in that the w orst titanium one is going to be better than the best bronze one but not because that was the focus
the higher quality PSUs usually are more efficient as a product of their design and thats all that 80+ measures
theres bronze psus better than gold ones tho
theres a few gold ones over platinum as well
cybernetics ratings are arguably better but no one uses them rly still besides like corsair
ive heard of cybernetics
its hardwarebusters right?
I have heard that aris is a bit of a clown
The Merkur XR4Ti was an award-winning, turbocharged home-run for Ford in the 1980s — until it landed in U.S. dealerships with a thud. How could this have happened?

I miss the Ford cosworths
My dad had the sierra and the escort when I was growing up
Somehow didn’t get stolen
The fact that half of them in the UK were stolen or wrapped round a tree means they’re now expensive tho lol
Sonic CD is running way too fast. I have AMD Graphics drivers and gpu. How do I force it to 60fps?
I found a General Frame Rate control but not specifically for Sonic CD

Porsche almost made the CGT in a paddle shift automated manual. Thankfully, they didn't BUT it did cause one MASSIVE issue. Let my tell you why then take it out on the road to see how bad it really is.
Also to Josh and Kevin at @Boden_Autohaus

I set the refresh to 60
try booting it back up again
is it outright refusing to boot?
weird
u can check cpu temps ofc but if you're just watching a youtube video
it will not use the cpu much
i just unsleeped the pc and it shutted the pc down after that
after abit ofc
@real edge
So yeah idk
well, you were planning on upgrading your computer anyway
I am
so its most likely that the issue will go away as you upgrade your stuff
if you change everything but the PSU and you still get random shut downs then it will be the PSU
@real edgecould be my cpu tbh
92c is very high
throttle territory
I would defo re-paste the CPU
put new thermal paste on
re-paste the CPU for now
oh idont have any paste i think xD
if it's been years since you have pasted it (or you don't even remember ever doing it and prob used stock film of paste) then it overheats then shuts down...
its like a couple of bucks a tube
just buy one and re-paste it
nope tbh

if you have never once thermal pasted a CPU before you should watch a video on it
you can't use too much or too little
also some of us use 90%+ rubbing alcohol wipe to clean the old stuff off both surface
obv you never use water
it'll be good practice for when you ever need to do this again in future for new PC. cause you will need this knowledge again and again
i usually would bring it to an pc store
I should probably repaste my CPU some time
it's not overheating but probably still good to do
after uh, 10 years or something
yes recommended is like 3-4 years as a deadass preventative measure since most people like replacing stuff around then but it's bare minimum to at least check things out in there
but it should definitely happen by the 5 year mark............
fan coolers are ok but still have to check. if liquid cooler than even those get totally replaced in like 5 years
as always you guys need to be airdusting your PC like minimum 1-2 a year, three times if you have a pet, or it will overheat worse
it can't cool itself if you have literally never opened the PC before and inside is a buncha dust
I've seen what happens if you don't. It can go BZZZT and start smoking in the summer randomly
Mobo will fry and be dead
also usually people replace their power supply like 5-7 years
I mean it rly doesn’t matter how long u leave it if ur checking ur temps and they’re fine
Just use Liquid Metal and leave it forever
Ur meant to replace it more often but it seems to last longer anyway
Liquid coolers don't need to be replaced until they fail, if you're not constantly taking them in and out of your PC
My x62 has been in my PC for 7 years and still gets ridiculously low temps on my 8700k at 5ghz
Haven't repasted since then either
I'm on the liquid metal bandwagon too. Delidded; temps haven't increased at all since install
Good power supplies can last 10 years easily. In fact many good PSUs have traditionally come with a 10 year warranty, and that's just on the warranty
If youre monitoring your voltage levels on each of the rails using something like hwinfo once in a blue moon and you're still getting good, stable voltage and power delivery without excessive heat or noise, you should be fine
Over-maintaintaining a machine can introduce its own problems as every time you disassemble and reassemble a machine to maintain it, you have opportunities to introduce damage or error, or wear or damage to fasteners and hoses. Part of why I mentioned it about liquid coolers lasting a long time if you're not constantly removing and reinstalling it is since the rubber in the hoses does get less flexible with time and if you just leave it alone, it can maintain a good seal for way longer than if you were moving the hoses around a lot and increasing the risk of introducing micro cracking into the hoses.
Generally you don't need to pre emptively repaste if you're still getting good temps. Clean your dust filters on case intake. That's about all the maintenance most machines need
Aside from like occasionally monitoring temps and voltage once in a blue moon as mentioned
My cpu is an toasty 91c

ya but people usually replace in that time period because they can afford a new one already by 7 years, they don't usually try to drag it out to 10 on principle
being a miser is gonna blow your shit up
same with aio
my psu died way before the 10 year mark
saving money too much on principle ultimately fucks your shit up yes
same my PSU died before 10yr mark too
they're always 'good psu'
besides if you can't afford new PC parts in over half a decade it means your adult life has other problems you should be prioritizing, frankly
there's no nicer way to say that
I agree with people not trying to over maintain and repaste if they don't need to but holy crap a lot of them do a terrible job the first time lmao so they def need to
the stock film paste can be shitty too
I usually wipe the stock paste off and use my own shit
OEM stuff tends to dry out much faster
people just needa learn
they won't if they keep bringing their PC to the repair shop
I had to repaste recently
that shit was like dried toothpaste
very disappointing since it was the shit that came with a Noctua cooler
I expected more out of Noctua
just by principle if somebody built their first pc at say 17yo and then they're like 25yo looking in there later I would HOPE they replaced or repasted something before then
cause it would be a whole era of your life gone by already
yea the OEM shit sucks
actually used the same paste again bc I had nothing else so I will probably have to repaste again in a year or so LMAO
at least my PC has been a lot more stable since then
the problem really was overheating
your PC had so many issues
god
the fucking SSD lol
the fucking drive with a bad sector
esp Americans who were here for like two stimulus checks, if you didn't buy PC parts with it then you spent it wrong sorry

my PC is insanely powerful but holy shit I am finding ways to push it to its limit
is gonna get even worse once I start having to run L2D software as well
just kinda boggles the mind when I see people spend on gacha and they don't even like, at least check on their everyday things they use
I hate it so much that DLSS isn't used by AAA games to push graphical fidelity even further but just to compensate for worse and worse optimization
eh I just Overcompensate with hardware
There’s PSUs u definitely keep for 10 years
If u bought like a 1600t2 or an old hx1000i or buying an ax1500i ur gonna keep it for a decade bc u won’t need a new one for anything and they’re made to last with a warranty on it
If u bought like a RM750 then yeah people might have a reason to upgrade it later even if it’s in warranty
Being a miser?
I know zero people that replace a working PSU before it shows signs of degradation; if you're one of them, you'd be person number 1 for me
I know people who do if they went from a 3060 to a 7900xtx
But not for reasonable upgrades
you don't know enough people with disposable income then
I know a lot of people with disposable income and they still don’t
Ah yes because anyone not in first world country with a living wage just have priority issues
I just don’t know people stupid enough to replace a working product with another almost identical working product
usually they replace it cause they get tired of having their starter 500w
even if it's working
I make plenty good wage and I count myself fortunate but it's pretty insensitive to imply that it's a "them" problem if people aren't in an awesome financial situation
that's basically everytime I've seen them do that
they jump to 750w then jump to 1000
I’m not going to get rid of my hx1000i unless I decide to buy a 7090 that uses 800w on its own
Yeah that's a different use case scenario, that's a given
I’m just keeping it for the next 8 years until warranty is out
I'm not gonna replace my 750w g2 supernova just because it hit 7 years old if it shows no signs of dying
Yeah
If u have smth 750w and not garbage there’s basically no need to upgrade for anything
If it’s 500-650 maybe
People see power spikes and go out to buy a 1200w psu not knowing psus are built to handle power spikes and only need to consider the average TBP
ya I agree if it's 750w you can just keep it forever
But wouldnt 650 still be fine if i dont use high power parts?
Yes
yes
A good 650 will last ages so long as u don’t have a power hungry cpu
you can be very very happy with middling pc
Can run a 7600 and a 5080 on it still for example lol
or even like between mid and high ya
idk why they go buy a 1200w anyway when even 1000w is more than enough
it's already the braindead default
Theres a 1200w psu?
WTF xD
Yea
Manufacturing smell
It’s like natural gas based motor oil
It just smells good
ima send you one of those
to traumatize your nose

And one like 2100 or 2200
Bruh
750 is more than adequate for most people and 850-1000 is more than adequate for regular high end systems
Some niche setups might have people with 1500 or 1600w ones bc they’re almost the highest quality models some companies sell
Yeah depends on what you get/use -- the most important thing to do before buying a PSU is to look it up on the PSU tier list to make sure it's a quality one
According to various calculators, my 4070ti super and 8700k with all the other stuff I have is estimated to be around 530w, tho my cpu is overclocked to 5ghz. But even then that 530-580w is just under 100% load for all components, and it's not common to have it fully loaded since you're gonna be bottlenecked by one of the two processors unless your system is somehow perfectly balanced
Like I run 100% load on the GPU when doing xiv with shaders but the cpu is only like half loaded
750w is pretty comfy for me for this load; because I have disposable income I might opt for 850w just for additional future headroom but 650w is also plenty if you're not using super high draw parts
Filmed at Porsche Cars UK ... June 1996
I see
Im planning to get an decent gaming pc
that doesnt break my budget
by too much
remember what we discussed, don't go further then this here
530w? Tf do u have in ur pc 50 hard drives
290w gpu and maybe 100w with OC cpu
530 seems high
530 seems a bit high, 400-450 at most is what I'll assume it draws
Yeah extra 50 maybe for whatever else u have is probably a safe assumption
Unless u have a lot of old hard drives and 30 LED strips
I think my 4070ti was using 300w with OC and my 7700x uses like 125w
my friends PC has those old precursors to led strips
it's just a neon bulb
so it uses 100-150W on its own 😂😂😂
Lmfao
Not my current specs anymore since I upgraded a lot of my ssds to nvme PCIe ssds and stuff but it's close enough -- this is pcpartpicker estimate. Actually I forgot the motherboad which upped it to 600w maximum
Realistically probably only draws that much but the calculators also factor in everything else in the system including ram/mobo/etc see above
Yeah does seem weirdly high lol
Twice as much as the pump on a CLC feels pretty erroneou
Tfw your IRA portfolios get torpedoed by over 10% in just two days despite being a low risk spread

Is there a big difference between the different brands? I usually go with noctua but I don’t think it matters
some swear by cryonaught or sth but for me it does not matter
paste is paste
yesssSSS the one grass is reallLLLL
What is cryonaught
they make thermal paste
Oh I see
I thought it was like an ingredient in like specific thermal pastes or something lol
I saw a brand on YouTube that is testing with using molten metal ( probably gallium) instead of thermal paste. They made this “cage” to stop the metal from going on the rest of the motherboard. Really sketchy though @real edge
I like graphite thermal pad idea more than that.....
yea 99% of ppl should just get a normal tube of thermal paste lol
is this the future of thermal paste technology? maybe! phase changing metal could offer the benefits of liquid metal thermal paste while reducing the dangers it raises on its own! pretty neat! #pc #pctips #pcbuilding #thermalpaste #yeesterpaste #mryeester
need new thermal paste? check out YeesterPaste and all my thermal paste accessories! www.y...
Agreed lol
just avoid the weird ones that use metal, they conduct electricity and that's a pain in the butt
like liquid metal or whatever
the wagoneer s still strikes me as such a weird take on a car
oh dangit
in reality it's shaped like a hatchback car
but then they tried to give it the side silhouette of an suv. so it's like the opposite of those mercedes/bmw suvs that try to look like a hatchback
what it really is, is a stla large.. just a taller dodge charger lol
for people who for whatever reason would rather have a car that cosplays an suv
I don't know why people would be like that like "I don't need all that extra space but I want it to look like it has it"??????
"I want my sports car to look like mom's minivan"
Yeah they’re mostly for people who use water cooling but people have taken to using them for regular builds for some reason
They’re trying to look like a coupe not a hatchback tho
SUVs kind of just do look like bigger hatchbacks but slightly different
Helps that crossovers basically are that and they’re included in SUVs by most people
yea
the wagoener s is just weir because it's a 'coupe' trying to look like an suv lol
ignoring that, i think it does look nice
though, like the full size wagoneer, I think they should toss a chrysler badge on them and not call em jeeps
I really like it
The pass through backs are just a thing now
Even on a Singer
Singer is fucking nuts btw
Went to an event yesterday for them
The rear window glass on the DLS is mind boggling because it has an incredibly varied slope on the edges because they’ve lowered the middle portion of the glass while SLIGHTLY raising the edges of the rear roofline to allow for corner windows to be intakes
Oh also the side ram intake glass is impossibly complex as well
my MR2 finally passed smog and is alive again
gods be praised

Fucking temu ads telling me I can buy CRM tools and python courses on there lmao
With spelling mistakes
the whole python 2 thing makes me laugh
i learned python on the job over 10 years ago and even then, python 3 was already out and had been out a while
a couple years later some fng comes along and writes this huge thing using python 2.x
and it was done by a different group so I didn't see it until it was already a thing
Temu gonna break out the mod_speling apache modules. nods
@dire viper was at fedex this morning and noticed the ferrari dealer was overflowing into the fedex lot lol
Yea that sounds right
Ferrari is selling more cars than ever
It’s literally just the boomer gen x doom posting that makes people think they’re not doing well

this is news to me
so in the end the 3080ti -> 9070xt upgrade cost me $303
tbh probably not the best use of $300
gpus are gonna get more expensive soon for reasons, and ur gonna feel that extra vram at the resolution u play so id call it worth
