you can leave it on on (like not sleeping) 24/7 and nothing will be harmed but you do need to make sure the fans/grilles don't get too dusty or it'll run hotter than it needs to.
Or you can just let it sleep when you're not using it. That's what most mac users do. IDK about windows.
(either way you'll need to install updates regularly and those require a reboot)
OR you can turn it on and off. as much as you want. You can turn the computer off every time you get up from your desk if you want. It will not harm it.

I currently turn my computers off when I go to bed, but I used to just leave them on

I almost always recommend prebuild for people who are new or uncertain when it comes to PCs. Then I would recommend trying to upgrade that PC yourself when its time for an upgrade. Youtube has a ton of useful tutorials. Then when its time to get a new PC, thats when Id suggest building it yourself

i didn't really have a computer at home before 1997

and in 98 or so I got a zip drive

and sometime shortly thereafter we had internet on the school computers where i would've needed to retrieve/send stuff

so I just emailed myself stuff

It is rather amazing how long those held on, given the leaps and bounds other tech went through in the same time period. Sure, there were proprietary things like Zip disks, but I worked at a Compusa for my first job and they still had an entire aisle on one side that was only boxes of floppy disks like that. It wasn't until flash drives caught on in like 2003-4 before they were finally binned. And even then most people still installed a floppy drive in their PCs for at least another 5 years after that bc boot from USB was shit for a long time.

You had CDs holding 700MB and even DVDs holding 5.4GB and there is the floppy with it's whopping 1.44MB standing next to them still... Wat.

(Although as kyanche alluded to, in most places like schools or media businesses, Zip drives were pretty ubiquitous by the late 90s)

We had a zip drive for the family mac, but I don't remember if it worked with my PC afterwards. Probably not.

For the cpu focused I think it’s single threaded stuff so if u had unlimited budget I’d still get the 9950x despite losing out on the MC performance it’s got the fastest single core performance afaik

For gpu rendering it depends how big the stuff they’re working with is whether you’re limited by vram so could choose a few things

If u don’t need more vram probably the 4070super bc that’s the most u can afford in 2000 with the 9950x or the 16gb 4060ti if u did need the 4GB more

Could get the 7950x or 9900x as well which are probably cheaper and then try and find a better gpu used like a 3090/ti for the vram

the audio technica at2100x is 48.99, also decent. both of these are usb+xlr mics

regular hyperx quadcast is $85-ish but it uses a usb-b port, so I don't recommend it (the quadcast s and quadcast 2 use a usb-c port)
