your 6500 would absolutely bottleneck it though, so it really depends on when you upgrade to the new cpu. If that isnt happening until next year, then i would not buy it, given that refreshes of current gen cards are expected to come early next year

So for those who know how connections work, here's a problem I've been having.
Around every 15-20m in game I experience a DC, this isn't like I'm booted from the game but everything freezes hard on my end and I can't do any actions. I'm currently using Mudfish to test and see if this is helping and it seems to not be working at all. The router we use is only ~8 months old, Ethernet is still good (though planning to swap it out soon since it's cool enough to actually go in the attic), and after taking it to a neighbor of mine (they build PCs for a living) they told me it's got some wear and tear but no damages. That Request timed out error is what is causing such a big lag spike. VPNs don't seem to work and my GPU isn't being overheated/overworked to play it. Anyone know of another way to stop this big spike so I can actually play the game stress free?

I would also run a ping to something not ff14 related, like google.
if both lag at the same time, then its your internet/router, thats the cause. may have to ask your ISP.
if its just the ping to ff14 that lags, then its still something related to internet, but not at your end, something beyond you and possibly beyond your ISP.

and later I could upgrade that i3-12100F to something beefier/newer like an i7-13700k or i9-14900k with a BIOS update

I don't think 14th gen is compatible is it? 12th and 13th are at least. But yes that was the idea was to be able to jump up if you want. And the cost of 32gb and 16gb kits are almost the same for DDR5 atm. Was like $10 more for the 32 heh.
Keep in mind you probably won't get 6400 speeds out of that kit. Most only do like 6000 consistently unless you have a board that only comes with 2 DIMM slots.

Brown is "basic bitch" as far as mechanical keyboard switches goes, but IMHO in a good way. It's simply a good mix of not too loud, not too heavy, etc.
