4070Ti is €989, 7900XTX is €1200
XFX RX 7900 XTX EX Edition
1000euro for the 4070ti is too much
7900 XT - €950
4070 Ti - €990
7900 XTX - €1200
4080 - €1400
the 6900xt is 770euro in my country
the 6950 XT is €790
the 6900 XT is €1140
lol what
6950xt is my verdict if you do not care about ray tracing
I care a little bit about ray tracing
yeah unless you can somehow get your hands on a 3090 for the same price, but i highly doubt that
but from what it sounds like the tech isn't quite there yet
3080 (Ti)?

weird case
I love it :3
I would love to play a game like Control with RT enabled
its implemented like ass in most games and barely works right, but in those games it actually works decently though... 👀
from what I heard, Control does it really well
metro exodus too
then I would recommend the 7900XTX if you MUST BUY something right now, otherwise I would wait
actual proper global illumination makes such a giant difference in how a game feels. much more than reflections imo
well an upgrade is not a must buy for me
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/uxl0yp/5800x3d_is_god_send_for_older_mmos/ hm... I guess 5800x3d really worth it 🤔
it's more that I'm getting a bit worried about my current system because it's been acting up a few times
and the newest generation of games are causing some issues with it
Elden Ring likes to stutter
yeah but none of my friends have those issues and they have systems that are younger than five years old
even i still have stutters here and there
I mean stuff like hard crashes to desktop on loading
yeah an upgrade would be a pure luxury thing
also dont get the 4070ti
I'm not in the situation that I was five years ago, where my computer was a failing laptop with a GT 755M and a barely functional screen
7900xtx is like 1120euro in greece and the 4080 is 1230 but its still crazy not worth it
CTD on loading is such an unusual and hard to pinpoint issue though
could be ram, could be the ssd, could be the gpu and/or its drivers
cheapest is 1780 for me
some of the cheapest gpu prices in the EU this generation
but still overpriced as fuck
cheapest for me is €1920
what the fuck
why is it so much cheaper for you Rob
you're my neighbour 😠
tbh the average wage here is 700euro
no wonder gpu prices are cheaper than the norm
despite EU
Greece I can kind of understand
but in Germany?
it's just hopeless in the Netherlands, they probably think we all work for ASML 😔
netherlands usually has had some of the best prices in the past
from what I remember
so this is unusual
if all parts are cheaper in Germany, it might actually be cheaper for me to order parts there and have them shipped to my nanna, then go pick them up there
it makes sense they'd be cheaper here
we have an incredibly dense population, incredible infrastructure and a ton of webshops
just buy it from our stores then
also if you check out mindfactory, make sure to also check the mindstar and damn deals tabs for sales and cash-back/bundle promos
the 4070ti is a 3090 with less vram and less memory bandwidth
still not worth it imo
4070ti price was as low here as 850 at some point
its memory bandwidth is too shit
192bit bus is dumb
yeah fuck the 4070 honestly
you are better off saving up for anything else or going with previous gen
6950xt if you MUST BUY something right now
otherwise wait
amd drops the prices of its GPUs
so the 7900xtx might become worth it eventually
maybe at 1000$?
also some problems disappear on their own
my 1070 had some artifacting
but I disabled shadowplay and DDUd my drivers
they went away
soo seeing this ranking, what would be my GPU FPS on Forza Horizon 4 VR gaming? 🤔
ah ok ty ty
but
my guess would be
that you will have to lower settings and use FSR
but ull be fine
so VR need more power yeah? 🤔
ohh there's a resolution on the headset as well, ic ic
should I aim differently? like I think I read somewhere that 6600XT is made for 1080p gaming
I think ya
is this Userbenchmark?
Please tell me it's not.
this have similiar spec, got like 176 fps maximum https://youtu.be/9KnTycacpQA

oh lol
ok ty ty
VR headsets usually have 2 small screens that need to be powered so yes they eat a lot more resources than playing the same game non-vr
But there are some open source projects that add FSR to VR games and that helps a little with performance if you are struggling
if I look at benchmarks, the 13600K performs only slightly worse than the 13700K, but it's €110 cheaper
13600k is a good cpu for the money for sure
is there any reason to go for the 13700K instead then
because from what it looks like the small increase in performance is absolutely not worth an extra €110
what are you using the CPU for
you need good DDR5 ram for the 13600k to outperform the 5800x3d in some games
Sponsor: Get 10% off Squarespace purchases (https://geni.us/BqEpf)
We're reviewing the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPU and benchmarking it vs. the R9 7950X3D, i9-13900K, i7-13700K, i5-13600K, and more. The R9 7900X3D is a peculiar part -- it needs to be roughly equal to the 7950X3D in as many scenarios as possible, otherwise it prices itself out of the ...
and even then the difference is small
Gotta love companies releasing meaningless products
well basically this is a list of components that I have currently compiled
I haven't added any GPU yet
so this combination of CPU and DDR5 RAM will outperform the 5800X3D but only in some games?
I mean, consider how many of "those games" you care about
if you're just going to play, like, FFXIV you can buy either lmao
both the 13600k and the 5800x3d are neck and neck
and cost about the same
in games where vcache matters
the 5800x3d wrecks everything
but in games that do not use it
they are about the same
and in games where cpu IPC matters a lot
the 13600k is a bit ahead
it all depends on the type of game
for every CSGO
or plague tale requiem
you have a factorio
in some games they are neck and neck
it depends on the games you play
Damn Ruben 9 that goodbye
kind of a mix
action games like Elden Ring
management games like Cities: Skylines and Satisfactory
ohh
do you do much that isn't gaming?
things like video editing I'd bet the 13600k would win, but I could be wrong
lately I have a heavily modded version of Minecraft called Nomifactory open at the same time as Twitch and BlueStacks with Arknights
yes
How is a half disabled 7950X such a massive leap
productivity workloads the 13600k is much better
because the vcache is on one CCD not both
so disabling one CCD removes latency
AMD really shot themselves in the foot making that design choice
improving performance
I think I'd go 13600k at this point, but you'd probably be happy with either
The 7950X and 7900X make almost no sense for the price point
the 13600k seems like a good pick
it is
Wait for the 7800X if you want an X3D chip
great performance vs price ratio on the high end
that type of multitasking ain't much tbh
so the only thing that I am in total doubt about is the GPU
I really don't know what to go for
the 4070 Ti is hampered by that weird memory bus
in sim games you are going to run them with the 5800x3d a lot faster than the 13600k
but the 4080 and 4090 seem like they're priced too high
like factorio or cities skylines
but some games like plague run better on the intel cause they never use vcache
theres quite some variance
do not buy a cpu right now
gpu*
and if you have to get something used
the used market is rife with 6900xts and 6950xts
so that is the conclusion? it's just not a good time to buy a GPU?
ye
too expensive
unless used
and if you HAVE to
then the 6700xt
is cheap
350euro or sth
for decent to good 1440p performance
or
a used 6900xt/6950xt
this is cyberpunk where both vcache and IPC matter
check the used market
see if you can find a 6900xt or 6950xt somewhere cheap
it depends on your level of need, impatience and funds really
impatience is high, need not so much except for just certain games to be honest
because of the aforementioned issues with the DIMM slots on my mobo and the risk that it is going to break down one day
do I give in to my mind goblin
you have to decide whether fun now will put you at an unacceptable financial position
not a fan of buying used components personally, I like a warranty
oh no my financial position is fine
like, I don't have infinite money, but it's not like I won't be able to eat if I buy a 4090 or something like that
I don't expect tech to ever be reasonably priced again
but at the same time I don't want to overspend
if you buy a 4090 you probably need to buff the whole build and go above i5
would add a ton of cost
tbh
if you want a brand new gpu right now
your best bet would be that 6950xt you told me about for 770euro
I wish I could justify the 4090 but the cheapest one is €1900
that doesn't sound like a horrible price
the 6950xt I mean
I'd normally prefer nvidia, but eh if the price difference is extreme
€990 for a 4070Ti, €1360 for a 4080, €1910 for a 4090
siiiigh

if those prices were even 30% less each I would've probably already hit the purchase button
but them being so inflated is the main thing holding me back
the 6950xt has the performance of the 4070ti or around that except in ray tracing
with better memory bandwidth
yeah but the raytracing is a selling point for me
even though I know that it's still not quite there yet
if I am going to upgrade, I would like it to be a setup that can handle raytracing up to some level
what can you get a 3080 for, and what resolution do you use?
the only gpu that handle ray tracing well enough is the 4090
the 4080 is below par in raytracing even if its a good step up
€900, I use 1440p
I mean, I played cyberpunk with a bunch of rtx settings on with dlss at 1440p and it looked great and performed pretty well, so it depends on your expectations
with 12700k and 3070ti
if money isn't an issue like you say, it might be worth looking at spending the extra and going 13700k and 4080, that should last a good few years
buy a 7900xtx from germany
if you think the 4080 is too expensive
1100euro or so
and you get 4080+ raster with the ray tracing of a 3090 or so
just be aware if you buy amd you'll get bullied by the tech mentors
true
price to performance is king for me so this gen I cannot recommend nvidia with enough conscience
I'm not opposed to AMD, the problem is that I don't know anything about AMD products
with Intel and Nvidia, I at least have an inkling of how it all works and compares
I'm not sure I'd recommend gigabyte gpus though so if you buy AMD from where Nhad is suggesting probably go Sapphire, afaik they've always had a solid rep for AMD GPUs
Sapphire is goat
I had a sapphire rx 590 and a sapphire radeon vii
both still run
friend of mine had a gigabyte 3090 die after 18 months and found a bunch of reports of gigabytes dying
I was honestly sad that when I 'upgraded' to my 3080 I had to turn down settings from my radeon vii cause of vram
I bought my wife a sapphire (I think) 4850 back in the day and it was great
with rtx in mind the 7900xtx is the only product with a price that is not absolutely nuts that still has reasonable ray tracing performance
personally if I were Rad I'd find the extra and nab the 4080 I think
but the 7900 would be great anyway most likely
4080 does cost a lot but feels quite a safe bet to get 4-5 years from
4080 plugs are scary frfr
if I upgraded from my 3080 i'd go to a 7900
god I hate tech, it's all so complicated and unreliable now
if only i could get a decent price for my 3080
I do like that my 3080 is liquid cooled tho
never have to worry about the temps
Mine isnt and it is rough
I have no idea what my GPU temps are. I like to leave it as a black box that just works /s
It’s everything now days
Quality control has gone to total shit in the last couple years
Doesn’t help that a massive amount of senior employees retired during the pandemic and you have all these new employees who don’t know shit
I sometimes wonder if it's us getting older and grumpier, but back in the day you might spend a little more time setting up windows or your LAN, but once you had it'd work for ages rather than windows randomly shitting the bed on a forced update
There’s this old guy at my work named George he’s been here almost 50 years and he always teaches me something I’d never know.
Having people like that around is invaluable
Yeah who knows, it’s like windows search
In windows 8 it worked wonderfully now it can’t find shit
I’ll type in an application in the search and it’ll show a bing result
Like ???
The start menu has become essentially useless
You use to be able to glance at all your applications real easy now you gotta scroll forever to find shit
bring back 98se
yeah the new connectors suck but thankfully mine hasn’t melted yet because I actually plugged mine in all the way
There is a config choice whether to do a local search or web search. What the search finds is also dependent I think a bit on if content is indexed, but also if the applications have a shortcut in the start menu folder. I had to do this to re-add some existing apps to search after reinstalling windows.
Bc clicking on desktop shortcuts is so 2005
is a mesh PC case must-have? Or as long as the front can let air in, it works?
Fractal is not welcomed cuz I cannot access them, btw XD
Oh, I had no idea thanks
I personally use a Fractal case (Torrent) and it's worked awesomely for me
oh my 2 AM ass misread
fractal too normie for me
anyone here have experience with NZXT cases
I'm looking at the NZXT H5 Flow, looks like a nice case
and not as expensive as the Fractal Defines
you were the guy buying silverstones and lian lis before they were cool huh
oh im sorry mr. antec 900, i have a silverstone tj07
didn't realize these custom builds were so pedestrian
i remember when like 90% of pc builds were chieftec dragons
and the forum thread was like
ahhh yes another one
theres cool and theres mainstream cool, nobody was affording lian li then
at least if i remember right, the dude that always had a lian li had the 400, 500usd ones
go get a fractal north and act like you're better than anyone who bought an o11
basically, what everyone doesn't have
i hear it comes with a fake shrubbery for the desk
dw I'm not serious about cases 😄
a computer build is a computer build and I like them all the same 😉
but if you talk shit about rgb imma grumble!

prepare to grumble
RGB is the worst
rgb is another tool in the toolbox ur just old
back to unsleeved rainbow PSU cables and brown pcb for you fool
I am older than most of the people that complain about rgb
RGB doesn't make your PC faster
it just makes everyone around you hate you
thankfully nobody sits around my pc but me
yea some punk ass 20 year old walks by me and atlks about how trashy rgb is, imma clock them
preferably with their stupid fractal case with the beige noctua fans
love my noctuas
if ya want retro fans get some delta fans!

seems GM's having problems with their batteries catching on fire again

GM quality as usual
can't wait for honda EV sales to eat shit because they're using the same platform
Apparently, the sealing won't keep water out at 24 inches deep.

to be fair, 24" of water is a lot to ask for a car. a honda anyway.
for a hummer it should be nothing though lol.
ultium is the underpinning for both GM and honda EV platforms
so if the hummer pack can't handle 24 inches of water, none of them can
0-60 3.0s, 9000lb, handles like a Hummer on 305/70/18s, 211 ft stopping distance (from 70), 540 ft from 100.
211 foot stopping distance lmao
I can stop sooner than that using my goddamn transmission alone
it can’t overclock but it’s toastier than the non-X3D version
I ran it under both air and liquid, both are fine
why are Gigabyte GPUs like 100-200 euroes cheaper than the other brands
they explode
I built this in a h510 flow
it's not bad, bit small for my fat fingers but I got it done
I haven't decided yet whether to build the new PC in the NZXT or move my old PC over into it and build the new one in my existing Define R6
mesh case, 3 intake 3 exhaust and Peerless Assassin 120 should be cool?
the Define R6 is bigger and has more room
but that NZXT supports the latest USB standards for its external ports
idk what peerless assassin is
H5 is apparently 3/4 inch wider allowing better cable wiggle room, I'd have like that
budget "Noctua" XD
I just go with the deepcool ak500 cause I know it works
Thermalright
I went with noctua, no regrets
noctua is great
I would go for it but I wish there is another color 😦
I see a black Noctua, but it is kinda smol
there should literally just be a black version of the NH-D15
I just went AIO instead and got a Liquid Freezer II
I have the black

too smol?
that is too old
at this price I would just go AK620 :shy:
it will not cool the cpu
the black NH-D15 was actually cheaper than the regular version when I bought it
$150 roughly
too expensive
that's overpriced for sure
yikes
I fear one day it will fall and crush the card XD
nah the mounting is actually really good
the price has gone up here, I paid £87 and amazon want £105 now
$88.91 for DeepCold Ak620
still pricey when compared to its normal price
much better buy, but yeah you're still getting stung
https://kccshop.vn/thermalright-peerless-assassin-120-se-argb-cpu-air-cooler/
$39.21. Everyone and their grandma recommends me this. Or AK620
if I don't use Noctua
Momo what cpu are you buying?
the temptation to whale on a 4090
5800x3d
and budget get streched again XD
I want 60 FPS hunt train!
and full glory Limsa cat dancers
quick google makes it look like that thermalright would be fine
although Vietnam probably has higher ambient temps than a lot of places I'd guess
yes, my feeling for everything looks cool to have XD
depend on weather. Now it is a bit toasty in noon, but I don't play games in noon cuz of work
I swapped back to my Torrent because it’s getting toasty
theoretically, as long as you don't mind noise, you could push the fans hard and expect to replace them a little sooner
what is the price of the scythe fuma 2 in your country?
seem not exist 😄
hm okay
im watching some benchmarks to see how that thing performs
I bet it's fine
Time to add the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Cooler to my Intel i7-10700k and a ASUS Prime Z490-A test bench. Lets see how it compares with previously tested coolers : DeepCool AK620, Alseye M120D Plus, AMChoice 360 AIO, ID Cooling SE-226-XT Black ,Scythe Fuma 2, Be Quiet Dark Rock 4, Noctua NH-U12S Chromax, Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB B...
the ID-Cooling one looks okay 🤔
I think the ID-Cooling Pinkflow is one of the most unfortunately-named cooling products on the market
hm
most reviews have it as good performance but noisy
so if noise does not bother you go for it I guess
Gist loves tech

we're one step past replacing "fuck" with "duck" now
Welp, got another speaker after the one I bought yesterday broke, and this time I spent a little more for a better quality one
Of course the speaker looking like a boom box was obligatory
it looks like a face
Probably due to the angle
that applies to us too, we are just fancier flesh automatons

pitiful cat girl, not enough fur
!hank
shue morphed into a real furry.. lose a bet?
I placed an order for the PC parts
that was too much money
but thank you all for your advice over the past few days
it helped me put together a well-informed list of components
and justify some of the more expensive ones to myself
what did you order in the end Rad?
I gave in to my mind goblin in the end
13600k and 4090?
13700KF and 4090
shiny
in return I've decided to finally go through some of my old subscriptions and cancel them
so that should earn itself back by the time it becomes outdated

of course now you need a fancy 4k monitor too
you'll cap that in just about everything, and then some
I thought about it really long and really hard
and then I realized that we are probably all dead in five years anyway
I ordered a more powerful PSU as well
that is what she said
dayum, sounds like a nice build.
I can't wait to see the results!
waiting for the 7800x3d might have been a good choice there
I think maybe that'll be my cue to upgrade haha
but still good
too many x3d. Time to put my PC into a freezer
i want the best balance of performance per watt because I don't need my computer getting hella loud when gaming
try mineral oil submerging build :3
To be more lifelike, all the Then statements need to be tied to an odds table powered by rand(int) where instead of doing the logical thing, they do something else that's probably less efficient or self-inflicting
Average college student: Exam is coming up in a week, you need to study. Odds table where 75% of the choices are Wait(86400);
yeah
GN called the 7900X3D a waste of sand without using those exact words
I think someone called the 5800X3D AMD’s GTX 1080
something so good and priced so well
too good
the 7950X3D is absolutely something designed to coast on the success of its predecessor, like the 2080 over the 1080
just more expensive and somehow significantly worse
I'll let you know once I got it all up and running, assuming the cable thing doesn't happen to me
doesn't 7950x3d sound like the top-end chip?
Imagine a time in the future when you can spend a lot of money on top end hardware and it just works.
No funky drivers, no weird issues that cause it to spontaneously combust, no overheat because the card is horizontal instead of vertical...
I kinda want an actual usb-c hub
not a thunderbolt laptop dock
just a regular usb3 hub that has usb-c ports
oh they DO exist
I might have to grab one of those so I have some convenient usb-c ports on my desk
They're super nice.
yea it's kinda stupid that for the most part, monitors and keyboards and stuff aren't using them.
i mean, some are. maybe even a growing number lol. idk.

sorry is 13600k + 6700 xt good enough for Diablo 4 ARPG and FF14 MMO?
easily FFXIV, idk about D4
oh yes easily based on https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/251518
cheers tyvm
should run great
nice pfp shue
sold
hm go back to 12600k or 5600
5800x3d looks nice, but it is x2 the price and I gotta invest more in airflow case and cooler/fans to keep the heat down
Plus I dunno buying a CPU only for FF14 justified the trouble :shy:
What do you have now
nothing worth to carry over to new PC. i5 4460 and GTX 960 😄
It’s okay I have a 6700K
Old PC buddies

Either option is fine, the AMD setup would be much more efficient
You’ll see massive gains regardless
uh huh
I’d choose whatever is more affordable for you if you’re in a tight budget
12600k is usually get a discount to 5600X price when I build a PC with it
my budget is weird. It can stretch, but every time it stretches, it hurts my kokoro
Well my suggestion to you is to save your money until you are ready to buy every part at once
yeah that's my plan. I give myself a month or two to research. My build changes a lot from 3060 to 3070 to 3070 ti to 3080 to 6800 XT, from 12600k to 5600 to 5800x3d
I stop myself at 3080/6800 XT
too much cat girls logging the data flow
add some fox girls to smooth it out :3
I like this hairstyle, so I will forgive the you
LMAO
It’s because amd went cheap
If both ccds used vcache it would’ve been great
But to keep the same price they were fucking dumb
nah, they just need to not promise to launch at the same price point as current products
yeah, but the 7950x3d could've been great had both ccds had fucking vcache
not this one has it one doesn't and applications may fail to select the one they need
okay hear me out

or guarantee that the user gets what they pay for not this stupid "up to 1gig" BS
It just seems like AMD used this to offload chiplets
The excuse of “costing too much” sounds more like “tooling would cost too much”
i have a feeling next gen they'll do both with x3d rather than this current gen and gamers will see it and be in awe
what they did this time around, 7800x3d just makes sense over the whole lineup
the greatest things these new chips have over intel is damn powerdraw because holy shit the x3d chips are efficient
Don't be Intel. Be like Mac :3

even while gaming
not just idle/average
amd just did right for powerdraw

KS is a niche sku designed for overclocking and nothing else
and the 7950x3d is a niche sku
Just add 100 MHz to a 13900K there you go
go ahead, argue it
I see a used Inno3d 3080 that claims to "have exchanged for a replacement". Make me wonder why it gets a replacement in the first place 🤔
now the next thing that's going to kill me is if nvidia keeps making money moves on these features
going to make me go team green with all these features i'd actually use 😭
Nvidia is temporary, AMD is fleeting, Integrated graphic Intel is forever
integrated amd is forever
integrated intel runs like shit
laugh in tray CPU XD
mobo's intergrated graphic
Requires Xbox app to even work
that is a straight lie

Yuri's Revenge kinda sucked though. Ruined pvp balance

Yeah, like that.
They remastered RA1, I'd like to see RA2 remastered with the ability to play pvp without the expan units and modern non-dogshit matchmaking.
That was the biggest problem with RA2 back then was it took like 5mins to load and someone would get dropped during loading 75% of the time lol
Soooooo it's basically a Chevy
it runs like shit but it never breaks all the way
somewhere, somehow, someone's still using a gma950 for gaming
and probably screaming on twitter that the most modern game they can play is Omori
Intel Outside where the case is opened for ventilating the heat 😄
I keep reading people doing cinebench and heating their 5800x3d to 90 Celsius degree. I wonder normal gaming like FF14 would make the CPU hit that kind of temperature 🤔
no
I assume they test it for overclocking potential?
I don't think you can OC that chip, but not sure
they're likely just benchmarking the system as a whole with storage/ram I'd imagine

roughly US$360 + a free AIO 🤔
HIGH COUNTRY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVdK8k1EZDg
look at that laptop cpu dominating
i like how they put away their steering wheel but left the shifter attached
they should use it to select virtual desktops or something lol
yea that's.. why i want a wheel stand xD
I mean, so is the wheel...
7700x is like $15 higher than 5800x3d. Performance seems roughly the same, save for that 7700x seems to less hot? 🤔
but it only uses DDR5 RAM. Meh, nvm :shy:
DDR5 ram is cheaper but
its still kinda sorta pricey
need DDR5 6000mhz to get maximum performance
and a 6000mhz ddr5 cl30 kit is about
200 euro here?
^ and also the issue of DDR5 mobo are expensib as HECC
hm the more I check 5800x3d, the less impressive it becomes in my eyes 🤔
5800x3d - $378.97
12600k - $210.35
5600x - $201.92
5600 - $158.08
nearly x2 the price, but FPS gain is only noticeable in a few games like FF14. Don't see the worth :shy:
well what other games do you play
also 5600x to 5800x3d is a big jump
what is the price of the 13600k
I play FF14 but in unsub for now. Other games are often non-AAA games
$294.66 for 13600k
the jump to intel is pretty big in terms of motherboard cost + ddr5 ram
depends on local pricing
r u aloud to use ddr4 for intel? or too much bottleneck?
too much bottleneck
well I plan 16GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM
tbh I'd recommend 32gigs
for 5 years
the corsair kit I gave you seemed neat for the price
yea
local pricing for intel boards seems shit over there
sorry is there bottleneck if use 12th gen intel board with 13th gen CPU?
z690 boards are overkill
if you use one with 13th gen cpus its fine
thinking doing so. I open game and mess around with multi-tab firefox and a dozen of background apps. Perhaps it is better to have more RAM
some games also suck up quite some ram as of late
16gigs is still ok but I doubt its longevity for 5 more years
currently, my PC is eating 6.7 GB 😄
btw, I think B660 mobo can host 13th gen? Require some bios upgrade, I believe
they can but ehh
any thoughts if I should pair 6700 xt (used market) or 7900 xt with a 13600k chip?
I only play ff14 mmo and diablo 4 arpg atm. at 1440p
if I go with 6700 xt I dont have to upgrade my PSU yet, and can upgrade again sooner
when a shooter title ie. CoD or Battlefield or GTA6? catch my interest.
if I go with 7900 xt I would pretty much upgrade everything all at once.
(some youtubers keep saying current gen gfx card not great value, not sure if they are just haters though)
I am coming from 7th gen Intel i5 7600k and gtx 1060 6gb.
depends on how much money you want to spend honestly
but if you just play those games rn and if you want to save a little, then id just go with the 6700
ok cool cheers ty both!
with a bit of luck you might be able to find a 6750xt or 6800xt for a similar price
^
its weird i dun think the xx'50 series launched in my country hong kong xD
like no one has them, but ya ill see if can fit 6800 in budget
if its worthwhile value for money
yeah but you have to either borrow a CPU so you can flash the latest BIOS or use a BIOS flashback function, if any
bruh yesterday my package tracking code said it would be delivered today but today it suddenly says the package wasn't received yet and has no estimated delivery time
it's going to be a saturday delivery for sure
hey guys, so I got hit hard from asus QC
dark kingpin isn't available, can you suggest me an enthusiast or at least high-end motherboard? budget is 600EUR max
not surprising
its not good value at all
if if was 600 then it would be
it dropped here as well
by a big amount
I think they should drop the price more and that’ll be a final nail in the coffin for the 4070 Ti
decided to check up what's on the back of my motherboard, turns out it was a common thing for the msi series of x570, using the gaming plus.
well, i don't have the alcohol to clean up the vrm "oil" it has on the back
it might be worth buying at 700 or so euro
Huh
Why’d your name turn white for a sec lol
lag shows me some usernames in white sometimes, I check and they're still in the server
thanks discord
they miss the chance to make it $790
lol
@grand ibex GUESS WHAT'S MISSING
oof
960...
https://nuphy.com/products/air75
been seeing that in mac setups on reddit a lot lately
or should i say, I've seen it a few times now *
Ewwww compact boarrrdsss
https://i.imgur.com/ehw72ab.png aye I can play it. WIthout grass, shadow, water reflection, anti-aliasing. And combat effects are straight out of a 200x MMO XD
Does that Hank have my 10mm
Please
Maybe they should have made them better
It's like what... 3% gain over the 3000 series?
No...
I don't understand that
aren't they on paper worse spec-wise?
like narrower data bus for the ram or something?
better nanimeter process
but yes bus widths are lessened across the board
but still the 40 series has some big gains over the 30 series, its the price that is the problem
meh. the only thing that would make me upgrade right now... is a quieter gpu.. omigosh this thing's too loud
I have a 1070 so I want to upgrade but these prices prohibit me from doing so
man i wonder if there's any water cooling option that doesn't cost $300+
sadly an nzxt kraken adapter won't work on these
it's affordable, actually mech and actually good mech, slim (still fatter than magic keeb but in acceptable end) and sleek enough
yes, alphacool has some aio blocks
keeb = asmr youtuber lingo
4070 ti pulls punches with 3090 but the memory bandwidth knee caps its actual value (in fps to moneys) at 4k
3080 is a much better value (in the settled down post scalping price) but it's obviously not exactly an option anymore (edit: as new old stock)
Kinda messed up a 2 year old video card is a good option
that's not freedom units
that's right
tell them metric users
The basic contemporary form of socket is hexagonal, referred to as "6-point" for the pointed intersections where its six solid sided facets meet. These are attached to the driving tool via a male/female square connection fitting (called the square drive). Standard sizes of square drives around the world include 1⁄4, 3⁄8, 1⁄2, 3⁄4, 1, 1+1⁄2, 2+1⁄2 and 3+1⁄2 in (6.4, 9.5, 12.7, 19.1, 25.4, 38.1, 63.5 and 88.9 mm) square drive sizes (a de facto international standard with no metric equivalents)
USA USA USA
why
its a bad video card
i never said anybody should buy it but it's actually in stock
😒

too bad i don't have any superreacts left
the world is funky when it comes to standards
it's because standards are a lie
nice looking socket
we have some 3/4 drive sockets at work
largest is only 2"
never used it for anything
koken sockets are the best looking
i prefer this over that koken
you just do everything opposite of me
nah, i prefer darker less shiny metal lol
impact sockets are ugly
chrome sockets are nice and easy to clean
impact attract shit and rust
i don't like chrome though 😭
Xbox Game Bar is a crappy way of making use of that extra CCD
AMD "Engineers"
amirite

cute
when you get your spark plugs done at jiffy lube
I used to use userbenchmark site for fun (mostly to see how outdated my build compared to a more recent build). Didn't notice they are now full anti-AMD
they are
they are turds who spread misinformation
and the sad thing is, because of people ignorant for tech googling for "vs" stuff, they are continuously at the top of google results
yep
I've been doing some cpu comparing lately (since need a new bed side laptop) and most of the top results are complete shit
hm this shop is so lacking of product diversity. Some items that have to choose as replacements are overpriced compared to other shops, and they even have a fanless case, which is supposed to have pre-installed fans. (perhaps plucking them out to sell to other customers). The only thing you can give them a thumb up for is that they offer 2 years of warranty for used VGA cards. A used 3080 at $631.82, btw
In the end inflated costs of other items get offset so much to the same amount of just buying a brand new 3080 in another shops D:
if my budget wasn't shit would probably get a mini pc or something with a 3050 in case my desktop explodes or something (re: driver problem i had a week ago)
brutal
if you ever get one, try ASUS Prime AP201 case :3
I would highly recommend getting a tiny ssd for your windows cause if you ever need to reinstall windows for whatever reason, everything on the main windows drive will get wiped
but well, I used to have an optical drive that gets short-circuited for no reason
so its best to have it isolated somewhere for easy reinstalls
or at least, have a secondary ssd for storing your documents and pictures and stuff
can I just get a cheap gen 3/sata one?
I was thinking this. it's shit, and it's cheap (and has room for a 2.5 inch extra ssd) https://www.amazon.com/Beelink-SEI10-Generation-i5-1035G4-Processor/dp/B09NKQQSQP?th=1
used kingston 64 GB 😄
if your case has built-in fans you do not need aftermarket ones
so it is better getting a 250 GB SSD and a 500 GB one? My current PC uses the exact setting
500gb tends to have better usable performance and write endurance so would suggest it as minimum for a boot drive
but that's my dmub 2 cents
-shrug- ordinarily i'd say get the biggest single SSD you can afford
my windows is on an old 250gb ssd and its fine
worry about getting additional SSDs later
and I got a 500gb m2 ssd later and a 1tb HDD
1tb hdd for old games and visual novels
m2 for modern games
i have 2 1tb ssds in my machine right now
and tempted to get a 2tb lol 😄
but i uninstalled some stuff that was eating up more space than I cared for
same. only 2 m2 slots because thanks msi
hm... my Samsung Evo 500 GB SATA is likely still in warranty
(and slower, but not horrible read times)
perhaps I should make it my C: drive
dangit I
screwed up here lol. I was looking at getting a wheel stand for my racing wheel
reminds me to remove an old sata cable from the spinner drive I decommissioned when upgrading to a 8tb storage drive
just not sure if I should put my windows OS in Gen 4 one or in SATA one
now i'm pondering if i should just go full psycho and buy a sim frame with a chair too
for a boot drive it doesn't matter as long as it's reliable
lol getting me nostalgic for the old hard drives
!hank
bah as sleek as they look, I think the playseat trophy** is too small for me
the challenge looks ridiculous xD
-ordered the wheel stand-
if I decide I absolutely must do a sim rig instead I'll just send it back ><
also this usb power blocker makes me sad haha I guess I can use it for my kvm or something
try nguyencongpc or hacom at least their price is p gud
https://i.imgur.com/lPdBQWG.png eh at this price, I rather go 5800x3d
the ISP technician came over
he's been fucking with the router for the past 30 minutes
even tho i told him the meshwifi is fucked cuz the router is trash
¯_(ツ)_/¯
ye
im just renting
so.. my power to do anything is limited
and obv the house owner wont drill a hole in her flooring to thread an ethernet cable
so
ye..
(even tho im p sure I can give a very good idea how to fix it)
Ah
he's fuckin with the connection again
he has to walk upstairs to test the wifi
even tho a smarter way would just be to walk to the front of the house
just sayin
also, remind me to install CAT 6 all over my house in the future
meh
at the very least, I'd have wiring installed for the spots where I want APs
that's it.
having wiring in every room is great and all
hm in my place, buying Internet sub gives you a free router (plus meshes depend on how pricey your package is)
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
alright
SO
This so called superior d-link mesh wifi
cant deal with one layer of cement
or two
you need open air between the two routers to "propagate" the mesh wifi
holy shit
this is like
top tier jank
My router from 4 years ago has signal through cement to the kitchen and one mesh wifi does not?
