also for the microphone connoisseur here, they appear to have an sm7b lol

aw I used to have one of these ages ago. nice.
finally someone that has plants that doesnt just have a plant because their desk is sterile all white
that mousepad looks god awful to use however
i wonder if they make those for someone over like 5'7
i've never sat in a chair like that but from the looks the headrest would probably reach my shoulders

Today we're taking a look at one wacky Zenith "laptop" from the mid 90's. Why does the screen come off?!

Yep. Honda motors until about 2003 or so all had distributors.
the fuck
sounds like toyota isn't the one stuck in the ice age
i still don't like the side buttons but i like the big flat screen on the apple watch ultra lol
make sure you get the 16gb not the 12
aw come on now, get a 4090
the 12gb is literally just a 4070 branded as an 80 class card so they can overprice it
ha
yeah that's what i've been reading
it just takes looking at the specs 😭
maybe even use a blower heatsink setup
then forbid the AIOs from deviating from the same
no RGB on any 70 or below
plus new intel chip soon
Seeing 3090 at £699 now
why are the 3090s specifically dropping like a rock?
I'd assume because the people rich enough to buy a 3090 at the high end prices will just buy a 4090
because it's outperformed by a "4070" now and it won't get dlss 3
not to mention the powerdraw of the "4070" vs a 3090/3090ti
when you say "4070" do you mean 4080 12gb?
yeah, it's stupid for it to be called a 4080
if it was a smaller difference it'd be a 4080 similar to the 12gb vs the 10gb which was like 3% core count or whatever. but the massive difference between 12/16gb versions is obviously just them calling it an 80 class gpu for profit

CEX have 3090s at £770, that'll have a 2 year warranty
i mean for those that would rather have performance than 100% render scale visuals, it's amazing not to mention powerdraw is cut back quite a bit using it
i mean esports titles are limited by cpu generally speaking so it's pointless anyways
i don't think it'll be gimmicky, i think it won't be good for competitive things like that though especially when they're already getting like 300+ in esports titles
amd is 100% going to lose for raytracing
there's 0 chance of them gaining an edge over nvidia, the place they'll likely win is raw rasterization
I wanna wire the ignition button in my Jeep up to The Clapper
Wouldn’t that be such an appropriate way to start a Jeep lol
So the 3090 aged like milk huh
i mean 30 series aged like milk especially once mid-low end releases for 40 series lol
We'll see. Not fond of these 4080 shenanigans where they're labeling 60 and 70 series dies as 80
they haven't labeled 60 series as 80 class yet lol
only 70 so far 🙏
WAN show was saying based on nvidia's normal labeling scheme, the 4080 12gb was similar to previous gens 60
in what sense???
they must be referring to the card being 192 bit or something because it's not 60 class branded as 80 for sure 🤨
Oh right the 192bit is fucking wild considering the 3080 had 320/384bit
192bit is the bandwidth you normally see on like 50 series cards
I think they were talking about the die size comparison between the announced SKUs
But yes also the memory bandwidth
I have a feeling 40 series is gonna be the 20 series all over again other than the 4090
They can only do this so many gens before they basically erode their own market as ppl abandon PC gaming then for consoles
1080p gaming 4ever I guess if you want to afford PC gaming now
affordable pc gaming isn't even 1080p, it's a steam deck
Waifu z790 pls
Waifu whatevertheshit next gen ryzen is pls
Asus really out here selling ROG gamer cables
Made from the tears of real orphans for increased signal strength

wtf lol
Oh thank you ASUS. I’m fully endorsing whatever the heck is going on with this generation of tech. Now I want to see exactly how degenerate companies will go.
aw shit bro
hol up gonna go to gskill and ask them to make a tridentz royal waifu
https://imgur.com/a/hyUGupD international box
Lol
Make a PC case with a boob pad attached to the front
put the on switch as a pressure switch under one of the boobs
the other boob is for RGB lighting
is there any ways to change game folder? like, i don't really have 50gb on my disc C
i heard about mklink, but not sure how it works and will it help
pick it up and move it, i guess
if mean ffxiv install yes you can shamelessly move it to another drive
i don't have enough space for installing
That seems like a way better value than the ram or the mobo (which doesnt even have the waifu on it)
https://www.nvidia.com/en-eu/geforce/rtx-remix/ so ?
how does it look like? would it be possible to mod ffxiv and get ray tracing ? is it like g pose but better ?
I don't think a third party modder could do this with FFXIV
but the devs could
Yoshida has in the past mentioned his interest in automating aspects of development with AI
the UI upscale for the PS5 update was done with AI, and then touched up by hand
and that worked out really well
that is strange
Credit cards are infinite money glitch
Get in waiting line hell
Took 4 years from the time i remember prototype 1440p240 panels to them bring released
ah I like these "iphone 14 takes amazing pictures" posts because they're always in bright daylight
it still looks like a watercolor painting in the shadows
sigh
what the hell kinda room do you use this in
I run my aw3420dw at 30% brightness
30% of the whopping 350 nits brightness
and you're here whining wanting 1000 nits
lmao
you're gonna fry your retinas
You got expensive taste, nothing will last 10 years
Youll buy dream monitor now, then 2 years something will come out eith feature
4K 240hz where
i changed monitors way too much between 2017 and 2020
from 1080 144 to 1080 240 to 1440 240 then some other 4K panel that I use as my #2 now
i just want a panel with no BLB so I can play ye olde horror games
@tame fulcrum
actually its probably worse than that on the AW because it has like 5 dimming zones on the bottom

im mega not interested in curved panels
still thinking about getting an UW to mount above my monitor but theres no good monitor mounts for that
ultrawide
and yeah getting an ultrawide mount sucks
main reason i don't get one
same with super ultra wide
depends, some of the monitors are way too heavy for some mounts
not enough weight support for some of them 🙏
Lmao
My Dell has a spot of ips glow and a spot of backlight bleed both in the bottom left. So obvious at night
One white, one yellow
the only thing I can suggest is using bias lighting
so that you're not in a totally dark room
amd releases cpus in like 1-2 days 🙏
smh
don't go for white this time
you and your damn luck smh
i found the next case for you

i do not want a supertower smfh
the case weighs 65 pounds smfh

make a small cosmos and i'll buy it
i got done with super tower life in the early 10s
time to dust off ye olde beast leans over desk and pulls back because it weighs 80 fucking pounds
why would you even be looking
you are on a ddr4 platform
but we want ddr5 now
but ice isn't/shouldn't upgrade yet
he just barely upgraded plus he went ddr4 for his upgrade path
Alright, ordered my new monitor. Grabbed the Huawei one since it had most features i was interested in, had good all around reviews and for futureproofing. for less than 450$, it was well worth it i think.
braided headphone cable in this color scheme y/n
i mean future proof means nothing right now considering how quickly monitors will boom soon 🙏
why are there two seafoams?
why not go for a turquoise or something for a 4th color
oh, i thought it was 4 colors per channel
well, meant mainly because it has freesync with g-sync compatibility. i have a nvidia card right now, but im probably switching to amd this gen, so that's why 😛
How much is the white tax
i mean freesync is pretty bad unless it's premium pro, the lower framerates feel like actual shit
i know from experience 😔
AMD FreeSync Premium, Nvidia G-sync Compatible so should be fine
its a 165hz HDR VA monitor as well
in 8bit content, probably. should be better in 10bit, which this one has.
also since it's not premium pro, freesync will be bad with hdr enabled
VA panel... 😒
also this ^
VA panels are like Hybrid bikes: You think it will be the best of both worlds, but it's really the worst of both
also have mercy on your soul if it is 16 zone for hdr 🙏
doesnt matter since im not gonna do any production work, which IPS panels excel at.
i mean ips panels are amazing for just media consumption in general
media/games so long as it's not a shit ips panel
maybe better if it was used as a 2nd monitor, but not if its my main monitor, which im planning to do. its all about the use-case as well
VA panel is fine if its like an office work one or such
well, seeing as im currently on a LED monitor, it would be a upgrade in either case.
Possibly, depends on how old I guess. Bc TN panels have fast GTG latency, but VAs won't be as good
about 5 years i think? was more expensive at any case, over 600$
headphone jacks
it will be all cloud based with a monthly subscription 😅
The non US market still has a SIM card tray
lmao
that's so comically anti-customer
There hasn't been many times that apple kowtow'd to the major carriers, but this seems to be one of them
why would you go through all of that trouble of swapping sim cars when traveling internationally when you can pay your carrier exuberant international roaming fees huh?
anyway I am surprised they stuck a plastic block in there
just plastic? not unobtanium special apple branded polymer?
the good news is a lot of us probably will never need the sim card slot anywya
but what if... they just put a sim card tray in the phones sold for the us
buying Apple's stupid overpriced garbage hardware is just the first step of getting you into their ecosystem
the real money is in paid services
and store cuts
it's ok, all of the other flagships will quickly follow
what won't are the oneplus/oppo/huwei/whatever random chinese thingy
$200, does like 90% of what an iphone 14 pro does, of course every other app is spyware but hey
or you can pay $400 for their flagship killer that technically is better on paper in every way, but real world performance is still worse for some reason

The only thing stupid here is the shit that comes out of your mouth
Being that the phone is unlocked regardless of what carrier you buy it from unless you owe a balance what difference does it make
It’s just one less hassle to deal with
Oh man I hate having less hassle in my life
I can say, based on oneplus' existence and reviews and the way they react to negative reviews
I would never ever buy a oneplus anything ever
yea...
android discord is now pain
bring back the old android discord
My one friend has the G9 Neo and the other somehow got a 1st gen G9 recently. Indeed, dat R1000 curve or w/e
I have no idea how stores still had new stock of the G9 bc it was only on sale for like 3 months, and that was 2 years ago
is the whole edge a diffused rgb bar
wtf
i want it
or is that just a fancy ass reflective sticker
DANK
Do it
lol
meh I'm waiting for the new amd cpus and even then idk
after getting the mac pro I'm like eh I don't need any more computer right now lol
lmao this dude on hackernews
talking about working from home, goes on a tirade about how it's a great way for employers to push the costs of work onto the emploeyees
and then cites higher water/electric bills
like wut bro? that's a sunk cost for me
my family will be at home using electricity and flushing the toilets and stuff while I'm not home
the impact of me using the toilet 3-5 times at home instead of work is suuuuper minimal
if you count how much you save by not driving and not eating out and
possibly other things like being able to wear cheaper clothes at home
and all the time saved not commuting
and the lower stress
(at least for me, I found that commute stressful)
not having to commute gives me less stress, which is probably doing wonders for my health
that said, I get to deal with my autistic bro more hours, so that stress may be canceled out hahahah
oh well.
true
plus I can deal with non-work-stuff way more effectively
which ironically gives me more time to do work during work hours
DONK
Watch the Hummer Ohio Extreme Squad climb a 6 ft vertical wall . . . brought to you by BlackHumvee.com
idk why it keep sshowing ford donks
in my experience most donks are GMs
oldsmobiles, buicks, chevys from the 60s-80s
Kinda to be expected given currency changes recently. I assume it will be 699 USD then. Wonder how long the KS will take to come out
12900KS came out 5 months later, so I assume about the same to build up enough top-binned parts
How is a car with EU plates legal in the US?
So somewhere in south america had them and a lifted truck with Colorado plates?
yes
I've watched the episode

Oh, they brought it down there ;p
lol... so they drove to Tierra del Fuego and he decided to drive into the ocean there to be cheeky and stalled it?
This would be quite the scenic trip, but I suppose you can get similar views along I-395 without having to travel to the ass end of south america heh
Wow this is ridiculous. Looks like something you would find in a video game, but it looks so impressive bc it goes from sea level to 1000-1300m within such a short distance
(besides the obvious color balance nightmare)
Maybe I should visit Chile...
yea but one of those is an elegantly designed beauty and the other is an ugly lifted, shortened station wagon with no design sense

tl;dr x3d is the same as 7xxx in games that use cache
but better in games that do not
which is impressive for the x3d

in old cards that is
7xxx is better in games that do not use the cpus cache or uses little
5800x3d is the same as the 7xxx in games that use the cpus cache
Just wait until next year when the new 3-D parts come out
personally I am not going to go with a 7xxx
too expensive of a package
700$+ for mobo, ram and cpu together
more for the other parts ofc
this is for the 7600x
Oh shiet if bidori telling me I should upgrade
Going to do it
What about 2nd Gen raptors
the 3d parts for the 7xxx series are going to be crazy expensive
so for am4 users
a 5800x3d is a good buy and will last you years
until ddr5 and mobo prices drop
raz.... just don't upgrade lol
but for NON-am4 users
you've been here long enough to know enough information on what is worth upgrading and such
then it may be worth a consideration
but only for people with old cpus
old intel cpus that is
not to mention, no matter what you'll be spending more next cpu generation since ddr4 will be 100% end of life for new cpus hopefully
am4 users can just buy the 5800x3d and be satisfied for 3 more years
hopefully by then, prices on that stuff will have dropped enough and am5 would have matured enough as a platform
that is what I think anyway
that is exactly why people should wait for next year 🙏
yep lol
x3d will be announced at CES supposedly
either engine optimization finally in 7.0 "graphics" update or 7000 series VCache
FFXIV use more than one core for critical rendering challenge
for am4 users, the 5800x3d will be a better buy over new gen x3d parts due to the ridiculous x3d and mobo cost of the new gen
and ddr5 prices (even if they're a bit cheaper now)
and AM5 cooler compatibility is apparently kinda sketch
3-4 years from now tho when the 5800x3d is "old" enough we may see a price drop for new stuff like ram and mobos but I am not hoping for it
ddr5 will drop once intel finally ditches ddr4
I think it'll still hold value kinda well because it's going to be forever the "best" DDR4 gaming cpu
eh no, 13th gen will be better 99%
well, for AM4 I guess
how many forced upgrades have there been for intel while AM4 has been available
nooo why not wait for x3d 😭
just wait for the 3d version unless you really need it
Is there one with higher resolutions
My 3900x wants to be put down
🙏 same with my 3700x lol
Wow Sarah upgrading before me
no because its testing CPU bottleneck, higher would just be the same with less max fps
bitch please, you're on way better than us
My CPU heatsink literally has a hole in it
What
odyssey neo g9
All heatsinks have holes
recommending samsung
I thought that's how thermal spread works
I have a samsung
ahh yes
their QC is shit and given ice and his luck, he'd get the shittiest neo g9 ever
the american strategy of including taxes after and not with the product
ice is canadian 😐
yes
but that strategy is american from stores for the most part
but ice just stick with the on-sale LGs
if you want an ultrawide
too many questions about oled atm for the alienware
about longevity
even tho its better
yes
when I see youtube channels mention 300$ for the 7600x
I just imagine 360$ instead
yeah that is too much money
1500$ + tax + warranty 2500$ lol
but 1500$ is a more attractive price so stores use that and conveniently exclude everything else
it's more that the US doesn't have a national sales tax, so they can't include tax in the price because it would make prices wildly inconsistent state to state
and everyone would move to shitty states like arizona and washington where they don't have sales tax
but you have VAT, which is included in the price
by specs alone, the OLED is the best, followed by the neo G9,
but oled questions about longevity and neo g9 price excludes them
for price, based on the sales you told me
then the gn850 is the best value for money
the best performing LG that I can see is the GP950G-B
excluding contrast
if we're talking about ultrawides that is
IPS displays have poor contrast
any other displays on sale?
They don't even have 13900K benchmarks yet, do they?
I heard they had a media day tomorrow
that's true for GPUs too
my titan gets pissy holding the 2050 core clock if I don't keep the core below 40C
as soon as the temps get over 42C the power limiter starts flipping and then the GPU auto throttles down to 1980

if I have the AC in my room on the core gets to 44-ish most of the time
If i had the time i would edit that meme, but anyways 42c, flips calendar back to 1984
to fix the temps all have to do is set eco mode by default. that's it. if can't do that manually chop vcore to like 1.5v and call it a day because amd fucked up (also IHS sucks)
that's 7600x when forced to behave
yeah somehow that's legit now (and not an old joke about intel's old strat to keep up) edit: I almost forgot about amd piledriver before ryzen being a little space heater
90C just seems like they fucked up the heatspreader
that too
did they use thermal compound or phase change solder?
should be solder. intel went to paste for a while and got shit on for it
dunno, if they were using solder the heatspreader should be able to keep up
the thermal reluctance of the solder interface shouldn't be so high that delidding does anything substantial
yeah i can't tell because review samples might be delidded already because removing the sealant might be ass but GN video doesn't show any solder remains
its not everyday that your t480 wont stop making a high pitch scream
especially when there arnt any fans in it
Derbaur showed a video of delidded dropping 20c
i posted an image of that
He also destroyed the cpu 😭
from the comments about the 7000 series amd, maybe i should ponder building a 5800x3d

HAHA
HAHAHAHA
@hard drift
HAHAHAHAHAHA
how do you drop it 50 degrees?
🤔
member when I said the power consumption for 5+ GHz was going to be out of control?
yeah, that's my thought too
didnt AMD fans make fun of intel for that?
solder would have functionally identical temperatures delidded or not

I2V? who would have guessed
also consider that just chopping the vcore like that is a chip to chip sample
AMD engineers are dog shit if thats the case
if you get a garbo sample it may need the reference voltage
if they're setting the vcore to something stupid like 1.8V to make sure all the chips hit 6GHz on boost, they're just designing against physics lol
some chips won't need all that voltage, so you can chop the vcore to something reasonable and watch your power consumption drop
but I bet the absolute dogshit samples that I'll get stuck with won't even post without needing 2V
Likewise, putting the AMD machine into sleep mode causes issues. I wasn’t able to successfully resume from sleep quickly, either. AMD says it’s working on a fix for this, too, which will hopefully be available very soon.
AMD LITERALLY POWERS THE FUCKING XBOX THAT HAS FAST RESUME FEATURES WHAT IN THE FUCK
that was first thing that came to mind for upgrading my 3700x but 400 bucks to cram myself solidly into current gen hardware doesn't feel good (even if it's an instant and significant gaming upgrade compared to buy ddr5 6000 now and wait for meteor/ intel gen 14 next year)

the VP755 is apparently plagued with some kind of impeller design defect so it breaks in a couple dozen hours
but the VP655 runs like a tank and is capable of higher flow and higher pressure than the VP755
dunno why they even made the 755 if it's worse than the 655 in every way
ah yeah Steve did say Shadowbringers in the review but corrected himself for a split second to Endwalker
wait, AMD's new shit can't even beat my casual 12700k?

these results don't match my personal tests though where I find better lows with AMD over Intel, I found 5800x3d > 12700KF on a 3080
nope
ya know, it might have a samsung panel, but at least it has a dell 3 year warranty (err it does in canada too right? RIGHT?)
I’m not a shill smh
Idc anymore anyways 😔 work has me too mad to care
probably different ram sticks? since the 7600x uses ddr5
honestly that's a good point, I haven't tested Alder Lake with DDR5 yet, since I've been doing all my testing with the same 2x 16 kit of DDR4 for consistency
yeah, from what ive seen so far, 70x series scales much better than alder with ddr5
we'll see once raptor lake is announced and see how well they scale with ddr5
shush ms shill
for your use case, I agree. no advantage. just warranty.
Sometimes LG uses better antiglare than dell does.
pretty sure LG does a 3 year warranty as standard
your country needs better consumer laws then
about that https://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/ddr5-ryzen-7-7700-ddr5-memory-scaling-review,1.html (tl;dr: timing is more important than speed in real world use beyond 7zip/data compression)
which has always been the case
unless you're shuffling a ton of data in and out of memory bandwidth doesn't matter too much
it's more important that you get it as quickly as possible
same shit as crying about sustained read/write speeds on a SSD
you literally never use it that way

If cryptocurrencies are to change the world, the people behind them need to be ready to face the music when things go wrong, @tculpan writes https://t.co/1z0oP4wzmp via @opinion
I dont think i need a space heater or fire hazard
$1600 for a titan part is... pretty much right on target, actually
I paid $1200 for my titan in 2016
the 4080 is way overpriced
especially the shittier 12GB version
i mean it's actually pretty damn good, the price for a 90/titan class card "didn't" increase since it's mainly just chip cost/inflation
the 3090 would be the same price pretty much if released right now
yeah
the other parts are the outliers
the titan equivalent has always been in the $1500 range, especially adjusted for inflation
member when they had that absolutely dogshit titan V dual GPU thing that cost $2500?
yup
there's a ms shill???
oh i thought there was a female shill that they were referring to
AMD getting pretty hot arent they
still nothing compared to intel when left to boost 🙏
not to mention 100% chance it draws more power than amd
i'm waiting for 7000x3d before i decide on upgrading
5800x3d was a scam
no it wasn't 🤨

literally was not a scam lol
I will take 5800x over it
HWO THE FUCK DO I GET MORE FPS ON THIS GAME
Anytime any day
that's stupid af
No its not
IS THE I7 BETTER THAN AMD
how so?
I aint using my pc just for gaming
even then, it's basically the same as a 5800x
It is literally not the same shown by benchmarks tested by gamernexus and hardware unboxed

I think it's time to say goodbye to x86 and the idea of silicon as a transistor material
we've reached the limit of transistor design, y'all
time to pack it up and do something else
not a huge deficit plus you get way better gaming performance and can still technically overclock the x3d to be more like the regular
literally not lmao
on sale sure, but msrp no
because it's way better for gaming 🤨
if you're after productivity you're not generally going for 5800x you'll go for 5900x/5950x
5900x is better thermally and way better productivity wise
and if you're going from 5600x -> 5700x you're not using your brain anyways 😐
You are bringing up 5900x 5700x in disc why 5800x3d not better than 5800x
save an extra 100 dollars or whatever and get the 5900x heck, it might be on sale
Its only doing good for gaming that is it
🤨 it's way better in gaming for a slight bit worse productivity which you can make up overclocking it
not to mention the 5800x regular is worse thermally than other skus
you're talking single digit % loss for a massive gain in gaming since it's not 100% dedicated to productivity
But you do you i guess
it's literally a no brainer
Agree to disagree
just people coming in here saying nonsense smh
the usual
they're in a gaming discord and the main focus of most users in here is gaming and they call one of the best gaming cpus a scam
Sure i may have worded a bit harsh or exaggerating but IMO it is just not as good as 5800X for overall usage , it is a discussion channel and i thought i could give some thoughts but oh well lets just end there
except that statement is wrong 🤨 "not as good" it loses extremely little for productivity for way more gains in gaming so it's well balanced and an overall amazing cpu when both are at the same MSRP
most of the time people who get the 8 core cpu aren't using it for productivity, sure some may use it for odds and ends but generally speaking 6/8 core cpus are for gamers
It's all CPU-bound so you either need a new CPU, faster ram, or overclock your shit heh
Supposedly Intel has better FPS than AMD as well (For FF14 specifically)
better IPC optimization
All these benchmarks this week with 7000 series vs 12th gen, seems kinda pointless.
Although the Blender multicore scores for the 7950x were ridiculous
that's what happens when intel release is still a bit away
that's why we wait for x3d 🙏
I dunno, we'll see. AMD jumped from 22k Blender score to 38k
intel launch is still like 3 weeks away, gives time for optimization and fixes in bios and such for amd
One thing I've noticed is the top AMD consumer chips really are more workstation-oriented. Whereas the Core i9 seem to be really good at gaming and workstation.
little cores 🤢
Good. AMD always needs it...
lol
i mean we'll see how 13th gen is
especially with ddr4 vs 5
i have a feeling ddr4 will take a massive hit this gen
You say that, but the "little cores" are better than stuff like threadripper and 3900x from only a few years ago
i mean yeah but it took them nearly 3 years to get to that point
As someone whose hoping to keep their DDR4 with this upgrade: I still hope so. DDR5 being pathetic gains over DDR4 even 2-3 years later is ugh
I guess the real question is: Are 2x E-cores better than 1x AMD cores?
i really hope it isn't good with ddr4 because we need them to make a bigger push towards ddr5 to drive down prices
Because AMD is a 16c chip and Intel is a 24c chip (albeit only 8 of those cores are hyperthreaded)
Like 20k I think
Actually wait, I think this benchmark hadi t at 27k (Jayz2cents video)
I can probably push my DDR4 ram to 3933 at least, and hoping maybe even as high as 4166 or w/e
eco mode for 7950x isn't terrible
I fully expect Intel to ship a KS chip in spring that hits the mythical 6.0ghz factory turbo
lmfao, intel going to start shipping it with the sub zero coolers again
Is Eco mode where it doesn't just suck down as much power as possible assuming it's 95C or below?
yeah
Keep in mind that 6.0 ghz would be for like 2 cores
it limits it to whatever the eco modes are set to
I forget if it was Jay or Gamers Nexus that was saying you could do 5.7 all-core on the AMD
lmfao
It's interesting how like, the entire industry in the same gen decided "Crypto is dead? We'll take that power then!"
Between 7950x, 13th gen, and 40 series
hopefully 7000 series gpu aren't power hungry
Still on the fence if I want to keep my 850w gold for my 3080 10gb and the 13900k
more than that
probably not
Get yourself one of those new ATX 3.0 1600w PSUs ... only like $275!
going to need the gen 5 PSUs
Just install 240V or 220 or w/e
$275 seems... suspiciously cheap
the corsair ax1600 is like $600
it's not actually
it'll be closer to like 300ish for 1600w but still, prices are pretty nice
and it's seasonic so they're usually pretty good
yeah, you have to flip a toggle on analog units
digital supplies accept both without complaining
analog supplies can just explode themselves if you connect a 240V to a 115 configured input though
MSI welcomes the MEG Ai1300P PCIE5 power supply unit, the world’s first power supply unit to be fully ready for ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 in anticipation of the NVIDIA® GeForce RTX® 40 Series.
See if there's a switch on the back for 120/240 otherwise assume it's auto-sensing (Since you said the manual claimed it could take 240V) otherwise inquire on reddit or tomshardware or something if concerned
Still about 200usd for gold 1000w
Not too bad though
A 14yo beater hatchback being the same price as a new top of the line GPU? Sounds about right
this is a lot of jargon to "demonstrate" compliance
but at the end of the day, is the unit actually reliable or is it just a spec wank
Have to wait for GN or LTT's new Lab32 team to do a rundown
I know on the WAN show they were saying the team had just been through training on the PSU tester they bought, so presumably they will jump into ATX 3.0 benchmarks when they feel ready.
I mean, that was quite literally one of the stated purposes of the ATX 3.0 spec was to support 2x transient spikes of 100 miliseconds
sure, but I don't trust that their unit is actually capable of doing this
reading market copy is great, but at the end of the day every PSU advertises ATX 2.0 compliance and there's only what, 5 PSUs in S tier?
going to need a dedicated three phase line for that
Evga wasn’t experimenting with it, that was just kingpin
tap the 480VAC across the three phases
He does his insane overclocking stuff, it’s normal to be overboard
with the amount of power these things are starting to pull it's just about time to say goodbye to the old utility scale buildout
"oh no people are using their full service panel rating consistently, how could this happen?"
I guess it depends on where we go from here: Will it continue to climb, or will fab shrinks bring back down power reqs?
you don't pull that much at one time
Intel thinks they're only 4 years away from 20 angstrom process ... we'll see
New materials, it’s going to get worse for silicone most likely
silicon as a semiconductor is basically done
between the switching frequency losses and the fact we're at two atoms width
like, it's time to re-think how transistors are made
hehe

Our review & benchmarks of the AMD R9 7900X CPU, a new 12-core part, include tests vs. the R9 7950X, Ryzen 5 7600X, and all the older parts. The R9 5900X, R9 3900X, and R7 1700 are all featured in these benchmarks of some of the best CPUs in 2022 (so far, anyway). Intel still has ...
Since my sis is comin to live in the jungle with me... i m8ght get to move into a proper house
Might finally get to build a proper setup
Hmmmm
@sly elk
What you think of the refreshed HD trucks
Looks better than the prior facelift
AND it keeps the column shifter
They sure do listen
Damn Hank, dat ur boat?
why are you buying a weeb truck instead of this fine chevy
Cause the heavy duty trucks get like 15 MPG 😭
Zen 4 CPUs going up at Amazon and Best Buy
what mpg will the toyota get?
20-24
I have no need for a heavy duty truck tbh, that’s for like work work
Hauling stuff around constantly and what not
ok stick with the cute little mentor orange truck

50% better fuel economy is gonna be a huge amount of money over time, especially with you doing a decently long drive to work
Pretty much, my uncle has a heavy duty truck and hauls a big trailer around and he says he’s lucky to get 10 MPG sometimes lol
But it pays the bills so what do ya do
you get 2 horses and a wagon
i mean those are 670E motherboards
high end as expected 🙏
if asrock wasn't so bad i'd actually consider this a great deal
bruh
what?
Ur mom
my mom
don't chat shit about my sidechick
Those are some expensive motherboards
i mean it was expected lol mid-low end won't be out for a bit. by then hopefully x3d will be out though
shilling hard af
no 🤨 that's just how it goes for cpu releases
£100 is my ceiling for a motherboard
pound is so fucked you might need to increase that
intel did the same thing with their lower end chipsets smh
B450 chad rise up
plus you have 5000 series why do you need to upgrade
i didn't say a word about upgrading
😒
what
nothing 🙏
Ryzen CPUs made in Malaysia
shipped to US
then reimported back into Msia
so our prices are through the roof

crazy ihs
the best part about the new chipset is all the usb
nice IHS design
no wonder delidding the thing decreases temps by 30C
yeah, that's why I haven't built a new PC yet
we've gone back to 1991 computer prices
member when a tandy PC was $3499
with 4MB of blazing fast ram

intel isn't going to gently lower prices
yeah, that tracks
intel can eat shit with their "more efficiency" design though
just give me fewer cores if the high efficiency cores are never really used
97% DCI-P3
wake me when we're at 110% of rec.2020 and DCI-P3

that's not what they're referring to
even rec.2020 only covers something like 55% of the CIE 1930 color chart
the reason they say 140% of SRGB is because it covers more of the CIE chart than SRGB does
but not enough to be compliant with another spec like DCI-P3 or rec.2020
if I get alzheimers I would like to be terminated
I'm in the market for a new keyboard (gaming mostly). Anyone really like their keyboard and want to recommend it? Would prefer to spend less than $100 so know I'm not going to get anything crazy fancy, just looking for a decent keyboard.
Wasn't Intel having some sort of announcement today?
yeah, they announced that they aren't AMD so they don't need to reveal anything yet lmao get rekt scrubs
Oh shit, only $589? Shots fired on AMD I guess.
their gains aren't that impressive either and this is from their own testing 😔 they don't even tell you the difference between x3d and the 13900k they just show it as a brownish bar lmao
https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-announces-arc-a770-gpu-at-329-launches-october-12th oh look, another "launch" date they can fail to make
z790 is a fucking scam lmao
0 reason to go z790 unless you need that usb speed
i mean more than likely for some of it, once 3d vcache comes out intel loses though. not even the 13900ks will save them
there's a reason they compared to the 5950x for their graphs and percentages and just added the 5800x3d as a single line instead of comparing to it
Wtf? So it leads by this much ... except for this other CPU we're not going to mention?
they were defeated by a $450 product when their $590/739 products were way more expensive and way more power hungry lmao
and now the next gen of x3d is nearing release and intel will respond with a 13900ks and it will lose
🔫
also atleast amds newest chipsets aren't a fucking scam
Fair enough, but I also still see this as a stepping stone for Intel getting back in their stride. 14th or 15th gen is where I really see them competing favorably against AMD assuming their chiplet designs don't fall on their face
eh i think they'll have a harder time justifying 14/15th gen because am5 will just need a new cpu/x3d will be out
Anything before chiplet is them doing iterative tweaks kinda like how they went 14nm+++++
maybe zen5+ will be good
and given what intel showed today, they won't tell you the difference between the x3d product and their high end
zen 4 is
the x3d is what i'm waiting for
supposedly going to be 3 tiers of x3d products this time
How so? Intel has always only supported a socket for like 1-2 gens.
I don't think the x3d will be substantially better, especially if the problem is that the boards are buggy and the thermals are way out of control
just turn on eco mode
shouldn't be a thing
it's like the old speedstep thing for intel
I'm curious how moving to LGA will work for AMD though. I have a feeling you're not gonna see AMD try to support a socket for 5-6-7 years anymore now that they're on LGA
true
I have a feeling their support for AM5 will be only the 3 years
i mean we'll see, i'm hopefully for atleast zen 6 support on it
Especially if the trend is for larger and larger CPUs and GPUs: That's going to necessitate a larger socket then. Much like Intel went from a square to rectangular socket for consumer cpus
i mean the problems will hopefully be worked out by then and x3d will still likely perform quite a bit better since the first gen was just them testing it pretty much 🙏
Unless AMD really blows me out of the water in another couple years, I assume I'll get 15th or 16th gen and sit on that for a long time
if the x3d products wind up being bad i'll probably wait even longer to upgrade 😔
Whenever the chiplet design is matured
yes
Correct
although amd has been using chiplets with CDNA
so i have faith it'll be good in terms of power and such but still no news on rdna 3 except that it launches in november
Intel plans yearly process shrinks for like 4 years, which I find BS given their struggles with 10 and 7nm
their gpus on the other hand, all their failed launch date targets are making them lose trust from consumers
I know they aren't calling them nm anymore (thanks TSMC and Samsung! /s) but they're roughly process shrinks.
Intel 7 is 10nm, Intel 4 is 7nm, Intel 3 is like 3-5nm or something, and 20A is angstroms aka 2nm
They're the first company to get the High-NA EUV machines from the one company that makes them, so they're planning to do the usual Intel then and snow AMD under with spending I guess? lol
I mean, that assumes ASML isn't selling them to glofo and TSMC
which I'm sure they are
They will, but Intel got the first one(s), so they will theoretically have a temporal lead
What's a slidedeck?
then why are you even saying it smh
Oh, you just mean the Intel PPT stuff
Can you reserve stuff at Microcenter for pickup, or is it first-come-first-serve?
first come first serve pretty sure
Bc I'll be in Minneapolis in Nov, so I'd like to pick one up while there if possible, but I'm not driving all the way out there just for that heh
Yeah unless there's a reserve for pickup its first come first serve
Ah, I was right. BS on the 8ghz OC tho ... other than liquid nitrogen or something. That obviously wouldn't be usable normally. https://www.theverge.com/2022/9/12/23348620/intel-13th-gen-cpus-raptor-lake-6ghz-stock-8ghz-overclocked
Thonk
Makes sense. The 3090s were heavily discounted and going to be less of them than the more mundane cards.
They're keeping cards in reserve for warranties. They're out of stock to sell
This whole boom and bust was very predictable, but companies do it every time.
Can you ask them for CAD? Otherwise I'm sure they can convert it, you'll just lose like 2-3% in conversion fees
do it pussy
you have 28 days to provide receipts
or you will be laughed at in this channel
wait
nm
you already are
#technology-discussion is a village, and every village needs an idiot
most days, that's you
sometimes bidori, sometimes ed, sometimes honk
shit, we're a pretty dumb village
we should all be more like hank
not anymore 🙏
iphone14 is ugly af. The cameras stick out so far
That’s not a peace offering 😭 bacon will kill you
That's later. Bacon is delicious now.
All about that rose gold rite
Gotta get a matching rice cooker
Is there a reason SE is so naughty when it comes to not wanting to allow it’s game to be used on cloud services like GeForce now?
I played guild wars 2 over GeForce now and had no delay or isssues
not that specific one but others were
both cpu makers have released meh cpus this time 😔 x3d is where it's at hopefully and intel released an awful updated chipset
I'll wait for Raptor Lake benchmarks to see if it really is a dealbreaker for me
only the 7950x is out of stock
i have a feeling both will be neck and neck while amd draws less power potentially
the main thing intel has that amd doesn't based on their leaked slides is the 1% lows being brought up
meaning smoother gameplay experience
not like this amd bros
if x3d isn't good amd cpus are dead to me 😭
god
i don't need a 16 core cpu
corelet!!!!
i mean... it just took them adding more cache to their 8 core to beat intel lmao
😐 coding is lame af
i did a bunch of it for my senior project in c#
also took a college class on computer engineering and it was boring
i am not after paying the bills if it means being miserable for the rest of my life
electrical/mechanical engineering is much better and you won't convert me
https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-core-i9-13900ks-special-edition-6ghz-cpu-to-launch-next-year
already getting ready for x3d
i have no dreams anymore
lmao, you want them to release arc as an igpu when they can't even release the dedicated gpu
All these news cpus and I’m still using a 5600x and I’ve had no complaints at 4k lol
i mean at 4k there's virtually 0 reason to upgrade except maybe for 1% low framerate
but need to see testing on intel for it
when i'm playing cyberpunk my cpu utilisation is like 5% vs my 3060 ti melting
i mean depending on these 1% low gains it might be worth it but i highly doubt it lol
lol

honestly these new cpus just reinforced that I should still be happy with my 12700k purchase
i mean of course you should lol, you waited like 6 gens to upgrade 🙏
and you've had it like 1 month
i'm here watching as the 3rd generation since my cpu fail to impress hoping the x3d impresses me otherwise i stay put lol 🙏
