my guess is you're experiencing shared memory issues. you have low vram and it's going into system memory. that hangs it up and makes it "stuck", so you go hit random buttons and low an behold it starts working! but the random buttons didn't do anything you just lean into confirmation bias.

This. One thing that could be an interesting comparison is lab-grown diamonds, I have some friends who are getting married and this topic came up. as i understand ella, it's model trained between an llm and stable diffusion. you don't need to train the llm or stable diffusion to work with it, but the bridge has to be trained still.

their method should be able to work as a bridge for any llm to any diffusion model. but not their released models.

it's not an SDXL thing it's an automatic1111 UI thing. So the model has a token limit of 77 tokens. but it'll automatically just break them into sections to build an embedding out of multiple 77 token patches. You can tell it where to stop one section and start a new one with BREAK, instead of letting it do it automatically (ahhhh see what i did there?)
