I have 100+ kills on the Vadagar Stag; however, I have yet to see a Gathannan fragment drop from it. I have also talked to several other players who noticed the same thing. For some reason, the drop rate for Gathannan is excessively low, and that causes a disconnect between the players who got it before it was moved to the Vadagar Stag loot table and the players trying to get it now. I've been waiting for a few preludes now for this to be addressed, but it seems like it is not, so I decided to make a bug post about it.

I agree. I played a bit tonight, night was beginning so I went to NE swamp, got the bear. SE swamp I had a votive with the stag, another Garren armor fragment, what a surprise. SW swamp a new stag votive, last stage was bugged and it never spawned. I logged off, I just lose my time.
I'm not against farming, i'm doing a lot of Warframe runs over and over, but having such a low drop rate on a boss with a cooldown and/or having to run across the map hoping for it to spawn or hoping for a stag votive isn't fun at this point.

Such is the nature of pre-alpha. I hope they listen to you guys, they seem open to QOL changes, just look at Lyke-wake. Meanwhile, I’m still farming waste wazzard for his pendant and constantly ask myself why..? Wazzards Wish is a tier 3 pendant that gives +1 Spirit? How does that make sense. Only thing I can think of is they might have set bonuses eventually in which having the full set would matter.

Thanks. Same to you. Not sure why it is so elusive. I finally got the last piece of Orengall’s Fang yesterday and I was chasing that for quite awhile. Never even got the prompt from the blacksmith like usual.

I have essentially given up on trying to get it until it is addressed in any way. It's the last weapon in the game which I do not have, so that's that

To add to this, some other items that have excessively low drops rates are the wazzard's wish and the wazzard armor. At this point, I'm not sure if these drop rates are intentional or not, but they don't seem to be. It does not really make sense to have such a low drop rate for an item that is not special in any way.

I have similarly killed more than 80 Vadagar stags and yet need to see a fragment drop. I have been teaming up with another Envoy that says they have killed boss around 150 times and have one fragment.
So it drops.
There may be change to loot eventually coming that could change how fragments work but as it seems atm farming Gathannan is quite bothersome. I doubt it is a bug but the drop chance appears to be extremely low and seeing it adjusted like with newest shield could save lots of unnecessary frustrations.

After over 180 kills I got one frag the other day. It exists, but is far far FAR too low to be even remotely reasonable. Nothing else has a drop rate this low, and it's not like Gath is some hidden win button. +1, revisit this because something just isn't right.

I was able to craft Wazzard’s Wish this past weekend which puts me at 100% completion of available weapons and armor. I definitely think I was lucky with Gathannan because I didn’t have to farm it as long as I see others are. For me it was Dewelion but then they added it to the recent siege.
It is possible with the upcoming changes in Preludes 15 they don’t find it worth fixing Gathannan drops, or rather they may be busy changing drops across the board.

Man I'm glad I finally saw this, I've been farming Stags at the expense of everything else because I want Gathannan. I guess I'll focus elsewhere until this is fixed, I just love the polearm moveset... 😢

I think part of the problem here is that not only is each possible spawn point for Vadagar Stag/Bear not guaranteed to even show up, each one that does show can be either Stag or Bear. Then, based on what the wiki is showing, you're basically shooting for an obscenely low drop rate. It's literally harder than finding a needle in a haystack at this point because loot pools are so polluted/clogged with junk and the spawn isn't even guaranteed.
