#Mora's Hand 3rd ability deals self-damage

I was beaten to it. But yeah. Nothing about it in the ability description so I assume it’s not intended but it happens consistently
Its intended, so you can proc the when burning passive
its like striking yourself with your own ability for 40% of your health that can't be intended
when your below half of your health, the 3rd ability becomes a self destruct button
The problem i have with Mora's Hand in P13 is it swaps weapons when i use abilities (sometimes)
I was about to make a report for this when I found out they added the self damage in p12 and just never put that info in the game. The value definitely needs a major change though. It can take such a big chunk
Yeah, I get the intended purpose but that should be chip damage, not a self nuke.
they already patched it in hotfix 2 or 3, now you take like 5-10% dmg and not like over 40%
Inferno's aoe does inflict quite alot of health damage to the envoy when the aoe that gets proc'd.
I've tested this while jumping and casting the 3rd ability - it can take quite abit of health off the envoy.
If standing away from the intended target when casting - the blast of inferno aoe won't damage you. The aoe is what does do flame damage to envoys inclusive of being "enflammed" with ember cast 2nd ability
I really don't get why Inferno needs to do 40% of your HP as damage just to proc the effect of the Ember.
This is all risk and no reward.
Now, what they should have done is make Ember proc on Block and Parry since, you know, you are still getting "hit" and that would make a lot of sense.
But to have an ability, on a pact with no self heal, that deals self damage, and another that requires you to be hit to use, in a game, where getting hit in cogah can end a run, is just insane to me.
Like, who sat there and was like "Yep, this make sense! Ship it!"
This isn't me being rude, it is an honest question. You can't use this on agari in cogah, you will die trying to make Ember and Inferno work like this. So was this not tested? Only tested in normal and not cogah? What is the design philosophy for Mora's Hand?
Right now? Half baked.
agreed. its a bit extreme. unless the intention was for it to heal you when you do fire damage. which it doesnt.
Yeah, right now Mora's Hand is kinda all over the place. It wants to be hit and has self damage but no way to heal themselves back up. It wants enemies on fire but only its 3 sets them on fire, which also happens to be the ability that wants them on fire as well...
Smolder is basically useless as in most cases you will kill a target before it activates and on bosses the total utility you get out of it is negligible.
It just doesn't know what it wants to do, which is the main issue. DE just needs to settle on an identity for this pact and then make the changes necessary for that identity to thrive.
With the Baskers Wrest its pretty neat with the Hollowing. with the explosion. pretty much instant kills everything except bosses. i just wish it had more synergy
I finished maxing out Mora. I feel this same way about this pact. You can dump 10 points into Smolder, which is a third of your pacts total points, and it is rubbish. I think it takes about 10 seconds for an enemy to start on fire even with all skill points in it. With that sort of investment, I would expect them to be on fire pretty quickly and taking some big hits.
The idea of ignitng enemies with the Passive Smolder of Mora's Hand and retrying a small tix of health would be ideal to round out the Pact
