I genuinely don’t understand what I’m doing wrong, but I have been farming this twerp over and over (both Cogah’d and not) and have yet to get either of his runes. I just want a rune for my bow…
Is there some trick I don’t know about?

Just to confirm, you have been picking the mushrooms?

Correct. I pick the mushroom, I watch the ticker go that shows all the items I got, I open the chest that’s there, and I check my inventory section with all the runes. No bow runes in sight for me
I had a Cogah run going where there was at least 5 or 6 glowing [looted] Agaric rings littered around his spawn from all my attempts at getting The Torrent rune

I think you can expect you worst rune farm to take more than 10 attempts. But at least know that these actually drop for people (the last one did for me in this update), it's probably not a bug issue.

I’m choosing to believe that DE heard me because I finally got Alva’s Breath to drop. I wish I knew how many times I killed him before I got it

Good to hear that, since I'm facing the same issue. Weirdly enough he did drop one Everflame (Greatsword) for me, which I had to double check if the drops weren't outdated in the wiki.

I wish I had better advice to share other than “I just had to keep hitting my head against the wall until I broke through”
Once I finally got Alca’s Breath, I went back to Cogah and pretty quickly got Torrent 🤷♂️

This seems to be an issue again, been farming this twerp for about 3 days on and off. Have yet to get Alca's Breath yet

i did him once maybe an hour or so ago, bc i wanted to farm a joinery, and he dropped alcas breath for me
