1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Also having this issue, possibly something with an update?
like, it lets me click on "soulframe.msi" but then nothing happens, it doesnt add it or give an error message or anything, before it just added it. Ive tried restarting, ive tried changing fle name, ive tried adding it to a different steam account ive tried switching to steam beta channel nothing changes the issue. only thing left i can think of is trying a factory reset...
cant add the .msi to steam deck library
can i ask how youre playing rn (according to discord)? did you find a workaround or are you on a different device?
on pc right now, not playing via steam deck
ah, ok
I never tried running .msi on wine\proton, does it run the installer properly ?
k what wine is, but proton ran the game fine (when i had it in steam...) was playing the game for like 3 weeks.
*idk what wine is
basically the same thing, proton is a fork of wine
oh.
msi is an MicroSoftInstaller, so I wouldn't know why you would run it more then once
I expect you to run the EXEcutable ?
workaround right now is use lutris to install
but issue seems to be SteamOS related
tried adding the .exe file to steam, it didnt do anything
tried that once, after the launcher downloaded stuff for a while it gave me a popup about corrupted files. Though idk how to use lutris properly, i opened it, searched soulframe, and found a thing that said it was the ltris warframe installer but converted to soulrame. ive launching the .msi directly with lutris it doesnt seem to do anything. If im doing something wrong id appeciate more detail on how to doi t on lutris.
ohh, i had followed this guide before, wasnt able to find it again thanks
Anything work I can't add it to my steam deck
Solution to the .msi issue on the question text: #1452325180662874305 message
i got the lutris thing to work, open lutris and search soulframe preludes on it, someone made a linux launcher on there, many thanks to them.
Great! I also got Lutris to work, but I prefer having it on steam. Others might come seeking solution to this thread, so posted it nonetheless. Enjoy, envoy!
in the menu before you install on lutris i got an option for lutris to make a desktop shortcut and i was able to add that shortcut as a non steam game, and so far havent had to force proton on it in-steam. the log in screen stays loading on screen for a minute or two but oherwise works
Yeah, happened to me too. I used to play on linux w/ steam before this as well, so it felt like it wasn't working right. Think steam's compatibility layer might just be better optimized idk.
