The game has very interesting combat gameplay, and that really caught my attention. The scaling system is very satisfying. But I feel it lacks a bit more multiplayer action; the game's PvE attracts a smaller player base compared to the large mass of PvP players. I think if there were a way to allow other players to interact with others interested in PvP combat, it would be more fun. And the game would have much greater longevity compared to a fully PvE game.
Could there be a way to enable cross-world combat in the settings, allowing players to invade your world just as you could invade others'? Or even 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 PvP arenas. It doesn't need to be something massive, but something that generates combat between players, allowing them to constantly improve their fighting skills and tactics.
In my opinion as a player, I think it would be a great move to cater to this large player base that loves PvP and enjoys playing it. I would even love to play PvP modes and interact with other players in combat.

So DE’s other game Warframe is almost exclusively PvE and has been around for over a decade. Sure, it has PvP modes, but they’re currently building up development cobwebs because practically no one plays them and the closest thing to actual PvP in the game is if someone decides to play a mission as Limbo.

While it might be an interesting idea, it needs to be clarified that Warframe proved that PvP players are the minority and sometimes how small that player base is might not be worth the development resources.

not gonna get into it anymore than this but it would also take away development time from anything and everything else PvE related which is what most play the game for nor does PvP need to be in every game MoteLook

considering how PvP went in warframe, i have to admit i'm not exactly thrilled to see another attempt being made in soulframe. Pacts also would be an issue in term of balancing considering how some abilities would be busted in a PvP settings and while they could go the warframe route of giving them reduced efficiency or altered functionnality, it might makes them feel underwhelming compared to their PvE version. Now, soulframe is not warframe, there isn't the crazy movement system that makes players harder to hit than a fly with a bow so it might be a lot less frustrating. I won't ask for it, but if they do decide to implement it i won't be against the idea

Forced pvp is something that I always hated. DE likely wouldn’t want to lower player counts for those who already joined by allowing people to invade

PvP would pull resources from the primary reason 99% of people are playing the game and invasions are already pretty disliked in Dark Souls, -1

PvP would ruin so many of immersive elements of the game, and we'd have to dilute the character abilities, likely they'd be boring to use... So maybe melee only, sparring could do the trick. Capture the flag could be fun.
There's a reason it doesn't work on Warframe.

Ditto. I don't want DE to waste resource on PvP. There's enough competitive games already, heck there's one every month.
